Give Me the Butter, Baby, Give Me the Butter (and What She Wears Winner!)

Any Dane Cook fans out there that would get that butter reference? No? Ok....

Anyway, I have been collaborating with the cutest local boutique, Collage of York doing quick, online style tutorials for their website (coming soon, along with their online store!). So of course, every time I am there "working" I feel the need to shop. I just can't help myself!

In the midst of all of the cute accessories there, they have an amazing selection of Butter Nail Lacquers and even their lip colors! Have you ever tried their nail polish? Its amazing. The application is so smooth and flawless. You could get away with not doing a second coat if you want to- it goes on that well! I knew I was going to make one of the colors mine, but I had such a hard time choosing because there are so many gorgeous shades! This is what I settled on...

I had been wanting to try the Matte Finish topcoat for a while now and decided to give it a try! I thought it would be a nice, inexpensive change to my manicure!

(Excuse the imperfections in the application of the nail polish...I was simultaneously giving myself a mani and also a quick one to my demanding 5 year old-which had to include all sorts of nail art....seriously?!?!)

Anyway, I love the subtle difference the matte finish gives the manicure. I feel like it makes the color look more rich. Although I liked it with the Raspberry color, I am the most anxious to try it with a deep grey, or even my black nail polish. I think those dark colors and a matte finish would be the perfect pair!

The evening that I applied this polish two of my employees separately asked what my nail polish was and raved about it! They said they both loved it because it wasn't super shiny like most colors! That would be the matte finish, ladies! It really does wonders in a small way!!

Besides Butter, you can also get matte top coats at Ulta (OPI) and by Essie (called Matte About You...how cute is that?). There are a few other's available, but OPI and Essie are the most comparable in quality and price to Butter.

Now onto the FUN stuff! Last week was our second What She Wears link up. This month we were focusing on maxi dresses or skirts. There were a lot of cute ladies that linked up and a ton of awesome maxi's that were styled! From all that linked up, I chose Kate, from So Kate. Besides being beautiful, she is a lot like me, in that she loves a good chambray. Really- throw a chambray on anything and you've won me over! Her style just looks so effortless, like she just wakes up and thinks "oh I will just throw this on," and she comes out looking gorgeous!

Honorable mention goes to her adorable son who photo bombed her photo sesh (I can relate!). He just looks like he has the cutest little giggle ever!!

Check out my other What She Wear's ladies MeaganDawnelleCourtneyKayleigh, and Brandi to see who they chose as their favorites this month!!

Now onto next month's What She Wears theme......NEON!!! I am super excited to give this a try- I have something in mind already that has been sitting in my closet for quite some time, but I haven't worn yet. I think I just might have to dust it off and take it for a spin!

See you back here the first Tuesday of July (YIKES!!) for our next What She Wears: Neon, linkup!!

  2. Thanks so much for choosing my maxi look Rebecca! I love that you included a photo of my son sneaking in. He is so funny, when I want his picture he has nothing to do with it. When we take my picture, he's all about it.
