Wear it Three Ways: Work to Weekend Wear!

If there is one thing I like to do when I go shopping its picture how I will wear something. There are the few times where I just love something so much I think "I don't know how or when I will wear this but I love it so much I am getting it!" Most of the time though, I try to picture how I will wear it or what I can pair it with. When I was teaching (which luckily can be a pretty business casual profession), if I couldn't wear something to work and outside of work, I wouldn't buy it.

Although now I don't have the typical job where I have to dress up every day (or ever, really), I do know there are a lot of you out there that do have to dress up on a daily basis! I am sure when you buy something you like to buy it knowing you can wear it for work and play. You really get your money's worth if you can wear something multiple ways, right? Or maybe you have things you wear to work and think you could never wear it on the weekend or out to dinner because its not casual enough.

Here are a few examples of how you can take a simple blouse (does that make me old that I called it a blouse?) and transition it from work to play!

The first look is just your office, wear to work look. As much as I love how casual I can be with my job, I really do miss having to dress up every day! But then again, when I had to dress up every day I wished for a job where I didn't have to! The grass is always greener, right?

Daytime/Office Look

Bag /// Top /// Bracelet /// Skirt ///  Necklace /// Shoes

Swapping the skirt for some leggings is just one simple way to change the look. You really don't even need to change the shoes or accessories, but I opted to just to give it an even more different look than you "wear to work" outfit! I have both the leggings and the booties and I am in love with them!

Date Night/Evening Out
Leggings /// Top /// Necklace /// Clutch /// Booties

For me, weekends are all about comfort. Typically a good portion of my weekend (besides when I am working) is spent doing things with my family, playing on the floor with my girls, running around outside, running errands. Obviously I still want to look put together and stylish, but comfort plays a role in that for sure. For this transition, I swapped out the leather leggings for jeans and added the cutest puffer vest ever! I paired the look with flats, but you could easily wear booties if you are headed somewhere that the flats would be too dressy for! (can I just say how much I want these flats. Like really want them. If by chance you are reading this Ryan- I will gladly accept them!!)

Office to Weekend
Vest /// Top /// Necklace /// Jeans /// Loafers /// Purse

I love a good versatile piece. It certainly makes it that much more appealing on the hanger in the store, am I right? I am also picturing the top with a black blazer over it (my answer to pretty much everything), and even tucked into a pair of high waist jeans with a great pair of heels! The possibilities are endless!!

So next time you go shopping, think to yourself if you could wear that item more than one way- I bet you can!

Fall Accessory Must Haves

Happy Friday! Here is my latest post for Susquehanna Style magazine! Super excited about it!

With fall here, it's hard not to think about pumpkin lattes, apple cider, falling leaves, and of course, fall accessory must haves!

Just as there are trends with fashion in general (peplum, monochromatic, ankle boots) there are so many trends with accessories that we shouldn't forget about! The great thing about accessories is they can be an inexpensive way to add trendy pieces to your wardrobe!

Here is a small roundup of a few must have accessories for this fall season!

You can never go wrong with a bold bag. Yes, its always safe to purchase a basic brown or black, because it goes with more, but a bold bag can change the whole outfit! Plus it can make any drab fall day brighter!

Statement Earrings
Earring Details

Don't put your statement necklaces away just yet! They are still a must have this fall, but statement earrings will now be sharing the spotlight too! The best thing about these earrings is they can be worn with jeans and a tee or a fancy dress!

Portfolio Clutch

Clutches are something that I don't think will ever go out of style- this season, the portfolio or envelope clutch happens to be the popular style. What's great about a lot of these particular clutches is the detachable strap they come with! Perfect to transition from day to night!

Braided Hairstyles

What an easy and cheap accessory, right? The options are endless. Braids are also a perfect way to keep your hair tame on those blustery, fall days! So glad their popularity is sticking around for another season!

What fall fashion accessory are you excited to see? I can't wait to add some statement earrings to my jewelry collection!!

Don't forget this Tuesday to link up your favorite scarf look with myself,  DawnelleMeaganBrandi, and  Jaylynn for our next What She Wears link up! No rules, just link up!!

Coral and Camo

A short and sweet post today...its one of those days that I am just drawing a blank!

There really is nothing like a cardigan and a t shirt. It's the perfect "I am too lazy to put anything together but want to look put together" outfit! I can always count on Target for the perfect comfy t shirt. And once again, these Chuck Taylor's add the perfect, casual touch.

Have a great day! See you all tomorrow!

Pattern Mixing: Florals and Stripes (and something awesome!)

If anything about my fashion has evolved over the last year and a half of blogging, its the fact that I am not afraid to be bold with patterns. Several years ago, I would have rolled my eyes at someone mixing plaid and leopard, or polka dots and flowers. But now, I find myself drawn to it!

When I purchased these pants I knew exactly how I wanted to wear them! I've had this shirt for months and have gotten so much wear out of it! I knew topping it with a blazer would be perfect! I actually wore this to my daughter's Meet the Teacher Night, but I swapped the heels for some flats. It made it much more casual! To make it even more casual you could always wear a denim jacket instead of a blazer!

Lastly, I was nominated as a Top 50 Moms Who Blog About Fashion and Beauty by VoiceBoks!! How freakin awesome is that?!?!?!
Here is where you come in! You can vote for me HERE to help me get to the top 10, and maybe (probs not) number one! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Support Women Top to Bottom

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Today I am chatting with you about something that is near and dear to me- ovarian and breast cancer. With a grandmother that has ovarian cancer, I pray that there will one day be a cure. She is a fighter, and does it with a smile on her face! Until that amazing day comes where there is a cure, we are able to help as much as we possibly can!

Belabumbum is women owned (woo hoo!) company that creates gorgeous, affordable and timeless lounge wear and lingerie for "women's evolving and enduring beauty: belly, boudoir and beyond." They provide beautiful pieces for the everyday woman and her growing and changing life! Belabumbum is teaming up with Ovarian Cancer National Alliance and supporting women top to bottom to help raise awareness for both ovarian cancer and breast cancer.

They have designed this beautiful set (modeled by the beautiful Miss USA) that retails for $59. 100% of their proceeds goes to Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. Yes, 100%. That's a lot of help for research, is it not?

Cute, right? You can purchase the set here and help the fight against ovarian cancer and its link to breast cancer!

While you are there, check out the rest that Belabumbum has!

Have a great Monday, everyone! See you back here tomorrow!

Friday Fab Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! So thankful the weekend is here! Today I am linking up with Lauren for Friday Fab Favorites. There are so many things on my want list (per usual) that it wasn't hard for me to choose!

My mind has been on Lucky FABB from the moment I decided to attend (an added bonus...I finally get to meet my blogging bud Meagan)! So that sort of has a little influence of this list of faves! I can't stop thinking about what to pack/wear/eat/think/wear/pack/wear....you get the idea!

Fab Favorites

Bowtie Loafers /// Shoemint Heels /// Stud Earrings /// Kate Spade bag /// ModCloth Dress /// Zara Pants

Although I have a pair of leopard flats, they are super old and just getting worn out. I am all about the bow....how adorably chic are these?

And these heels....oh how in love with these heels I am!! I have been on the hunt for a pair of black/diamond studs. I think they are a classic piece for your jewelry box. They are so gorgeous!!

The pink Kate Spade bag...really does it need any more explaining?!?! (I realize the possibility that this will end up in my closet is few and far between, but a girl can dream, right?)

This ModCloth dress will be available shortly and I can't wait for the day! The price tag is perfect, along with the dress. I think it will be perfect for the conference, right? Toss on some booties and a leather jacket and the look is complete!

Lastly, the Zara floral trousers. Love. Love. Love. Paired with a chambray and blazer and you have yourself the perfect look. I have been eyeing them for months, I just need to buy them already!!

What have you been lusting after lately? Anything influencing your 'wants' for your closet?

Happy Birthday Charlotte Adele!!

It was a year ago today that we welcomed this baby girl into the family. After almost 24 hours of labor, at 10:43 pm, we became a family of four, and ultimately completed our little family. I am pretty sure she was 8 lbs 8.5 oz, and honestly, I forget how long she was...I would totally have to look that up. Is that bad? (warning....there will be picture overload in this post!!)

Charlotte Adele meets her big sis, Ella. It is so amazing to me how different these two are already!

Loved that we used the same outfit we brought Ella home from the hospital in!

I know this is blurry, but you get the picture (no pun intended)- Rocco was eager to check her out-then soon realized that he would now be even lower on the totem pole. Poor guy!

(I know.....its our dog. But he is just too cute I couldn't resist)

Charlotte- you complete our family. You make me wonder why I am not skinnier with all the chasing after you I do. I love your determination (no matter how many times we tell you no), I love your appetite (you definitely take after me), your grin that always makes it look like you are up to something (you usually are), and that giggle. Oh, that giggle is enough to make any day better. I feel bad for anyone who gets in your way in life, because Lord knows you will plow right through them like its nobody's business. You already have a scar over your one eye from your stitches to prove it! Thank you for making my heart even bigger, and my life even more fulfilling than I ever thought possible. You are loved, you are blessed. Always remember that!

Camo Strikes Again

Its no surprise how much I love camo. This jacket, besides the print, doesn't disappoint. It's the perfect cut, perfect length. I love the little edge it adds to my outfits. It's also lightweight enough to wear on the random fall days where its a little warmer.

This necklace....this necklace!!! I've had my eye on this for what seemed like an eternity. I couldn't find a price tag that agreed with my wallet though. That is until I saw one of my fave bloggers Shanna sporting it, and the price tag was perfect! Sold! I've already worn it so many times, and can't wait to keep wearing it!

And even better than the necklace- this bracelet. Head to Target now and get this J Crew knock off. Some much more affordable and just as gorgeous.

Jacket: Old Navy /// Dress: Old Navy /// Shoes: Converse via Kohl's /// Necklace: Lookbook Store /// Bracelet: Target

Until it gets unbearably cold outside, this outfit will be on repeat!

Tuxedo, Heart and Soul

Last week I did a little post about this fall's latest trends, sweatshirts: embellished, patterned, bedazzled (yes, I said bedazzled).

I picked this one up a few weeks ago and couldn't wait to style it. I know its going to be a staple in my wardrobe this fall- can't wait to add more to my collection!

And the jeans....helllllooooo tuxedo jeans! Seriously can they get any better? The detail of the tuxedo stripe down the side is the perfect touch. The dark wash is just as awesome. Can't wait to dress them up!
