Balancing Act: Work Hard, Play More

Achieving a perfect balance between work and a busy fall
family schedule is a little bit easier when your wardrobe transitions
effortlessly between these two worlds. All you need to do is invest in a few versatile
wear-to-work essentials that can do double-duty.  Here are our top choices:

The Cropped Blazer- A perfect fall essential. This is a great
piece to polish up a lightweight dress for work. Simple accessories and strappy
sandals make for a perfectly put-together look that flows beautifully from desk
to dinner with no need for a trip home to change. When the weekend rolls around,
the blazer puts a preppy spin on jeans and your favorite tee.

Patterned Pants – Suit pants have been given a makeover this
season, with unexpected textures and menswear-inspired prints infusing new life
into this wear-to-work staple.  Tailored
pants with a smart print are a stylish yet functional option for fall- perfect
for the office when paired with heels and a polished blazer or cardigan. Wear
them on the weekend with a striped top, ballet flats and a colorful beaded
necklace.

Easy Breezy Sheath Dress- No matter where the day takes you,
a lightweight women’s
business dress
is chic, comfortable and stylish. A structured blazer will
help combat an overly air conditioned office,  and after work throw on some strappy heels,
grab a clutch and head straight for a night out. A long sleeve  dress is a versatile choice that works great for
weekends as well- try it with metallic sandals and you have an impeccably chic
look for Friday cocktails after work or Sunday brunch with the girls.

Colored Trench – A lightweight trench in a pop color is a
wonderfully versatile fall piece. Pair with a tailored pencil skirt or layer
over a suit for a chic and professional work ensemble.  This piece transitions easily to weekend-
simply toss over a tee and your favorite skinny jeans. A feminine trench can
also dress up distressed denim and flats for a Saturday lunch or stroll through
the park.

You deserve a fall vacation, too! You already work hard- now
carve out some time to play more! Take the work out of getting ready in the
morning by investing in just a few seasonal pieces that can be mixed and
matched with what is already in your closet. Opt for simply stylish looks that
can take you effortlessly from day to evening and maximize your play time.

What are your favorite pieces for work and play?
