Greetings from PA

One thing I am sure of, is that there is an amazing vibe going on in downtown York (PA). The street where my store is on is vibrant, thriving, and growing. This vibrancy is growing well beyond my street, which is so awesome!

One of the newest stores downtown, 56, carries a super cute line of Made in York graphic tee's. I especially loved their "Greetings from PA" tee- super cute and meaningful (for obvious reasons) without being cheesy. Pairing it with my blazer was really a no brainer- I am sure you all know by now that graphic tee's and blazers are a favorite of mine- my go-to!

Hope you all have a happy and safe New Years Eve! I am taking tomorrow off to enjoy the day with my husband and girls! See you back here Friday!!

Ella's Fab Kids

I really can't say enough good things about Fab Kids. The selection is great, and the clothes are actually super comfy for Ella. She is so particular with what she wears, so the fact that she actually wants to wear the outfits is a win.

I am pretty certain what sells her every time we pick a Fab Kids outfit out are the leggings. She would wear leggings every day if I let her! Every color of the rainbow and every pattern!

The timing of this month's outfit was perfect for the holiday season. I knew it was something she would feel comfortable in to wear to school, but also to our family party, where she runs around and plays with her cousins the whole time!

Right now they are doing a new member exclusive where your first outfit is only $15, or buy one pair of shoes get one free- they have a great selection of super cute shoes. Ella actually picked out a pair for next month!

I also love being able to choose a different size each month if I have to- those of you with children know how fast they grow, and how they NEVER STOP GROWING!!! Aaahhhh!!!

Check out facebook throughout the day today- I will be sharing some NYE inspiration, whether you have big plans of getting all dolled up, or whether you are having a quiet night at home- I've got you covered!

Swingin' It

When it comes to fashion, I absolutely love finding something that is both comfortable and stylish. I love walking out the door in the morning knowing that I am going to be just as comfortable walking in the door at the end of the day-this outfit was one of those!

I was super surprised when I opened this gorgeous Lobo Mau swing sweatshirt on Christmas morning-mainly because my husband and I agreed to only do stocking stuffers (I should have known though-he never follows the rules at Christmas)! But as surprised as I was, I was just as excited to style it! Besides being so soft and comfortable, this sweatshirt is screen printed by hand right here in Pennsylvania and sold locally at Arthur & Daughters, which makes it that much more special to me- I love being able to support my fellow downtown merchants (her shop is right down the block from mine) and Made in the USA collections.

The scalloped edge of the sweatshirt also made it perfect for layering-I thought a basic white button up would give it a completed and polished look.

One thing I love to do is layer, but layering doesn't always have to be saved for chunky knits or puffer vests. I think layering a crisp button up under a crop top or a sweatshirt similar to what I am wearing is so classic. I am well past the point of wearing crop tops (in fact, I don't think I ever did even when I was in my prime), and I tend to steer clear of them. But every once in a while, I do make a crop top purchase with the intent to layer with it-it makes it a little more age appropriate! (Not that I would buy one that isn't to begin with!)

And I will leave you with the cutest photobomber there ever was......

I figured I would send out one last dressed down (but sort of dressed up) look for you all before we get in full on Christmas mode.

I am working well into Christmas Eve-the life of working in retail, right? So not only do I have to get things ready for Christmas, I have to run a business! So comfort is a must!

I will leave you with this adorable top from my store. I kept the jewelry minimal because of the awesome cuffs that are sewn into the sleeve. The faux leather detail at the neckline is also a nice, unexpected touch to the top! It was perfect for a family party!

This is the last you will hear from me this week! I am going to enjoy the rest of the week with my family and friends!

I hope you all have a great holiday! See you next week!

Christmas Cozy

I sometimes wish I got super dressed up for the holidays, but the reality of my life, and of my family is that we aren't fancy, and we aren't formal. And I am totally ok with that! Holiday gatherings typically mean comfy, cozy outfits. If I wanted to show up in sweatpants and a hoodie, that wouldn't be frowned upon either!

But those that know me well, know that sweatpants are not an option. There's something about family gatherings that just makes me want to be as comfy and cozy as possible, without sacrificing my style! An over sized cardigan usually does the trick!

So for those of you that are like me and aren't fancy by any means, let me leave you with a little cozy holiday attire inspiration!

Leopard + Stripes

I know-leopard and stripes is so original, right? But it's easy, it's cute, and for me it doesn't require much thought to piece together. I tend to gravitate towards certain pairings when I am at a loss as to what to wear, and leopard and stripes is one of them.

I had been wanting a faux fur leopard jacket for a couple of years now and finally decided to get one. I am still sort of on the fence with this one from Forever 21. Although it's cute, the sizing is a bit odd. The large made me look like I was a little girl dressing up in my Mom's clothes, but the medium is pretty snug. Not to mention, the lining in the one sleeve was sewn crooked, so it makes it pretty damn hard to get on! I have to have my mom fix it for me! Usually the quality of their stuff is decent for what you pay, so I am assuming it was just a little glitch that this one was a bit messed up! I will link some other options below for you as well, because I feel like something like a leopard jacket should be a closet staple! I can't wait to wear it with head to toe black. I think that is such a classic look!
