Slow and Steady Wins the Race

So ends another week of my Nutrisystem diet. I am definitely still overall enjoying it, and definitely losing! I have lost a total of 8 pounds! Loving that! I have done so many diets, and taken diet pills that it feels weird (in a totally good way) to be losing weight slowly. The diets I have tried in the past have been super rapid with the weight loss. Which, we all know how those worked out- they didn't! Or else I wouldn't be here doing this, now would I? It feels good to be losing slow but steady. It sort of feels like it is more permanent.

I think what I have found to be the most challenging the past week, is that I got a taste of what my weeks and months ahead will be like. My store is opening this Thursday, and I have been there every day for the past week or so getting it ready. Going from not really having to leave the house if I didn't want to, to leaving every day was an adjustment.

It was hard to remember to get my PowerFuel and SmartCarb snacks ready, or I just didn't allow enough time to get them ready, so there were a couple of days where I didn't have my snacks, and it pretty much sucked! By the time dinner rolled around I wanted to eat and eat. But I didn't! So, knowing that my schedule is going to drastically change, I either need to get the next day's snacks (and even meals) all set the night before, or just allow myself some more time in the morning before I have to leave.

I also did have some meals that I didn't really care for at all. I am not a fan of some cooked veggies or meatloaf, but I did at least give them a try! In those situations I just picked another meal. Since there has been a time or two here and there where I have eaten out (don't worry, I made the right meal choices while eating out!), I had a few extra to choose from.

Now onto something small that motivates me to want to work out. Workout clothes are awesome motivators, but sneakers are even better! I am sure I am not alone in this one- little things like this just make me want to lace up and work out!! Plus, with all of the fun colors that are available now for sneakers it makes wearing them even better! Here are a few that I particularly love!!

  1. Congratulations on the weight loss, slow and steady is the way to go, although it is frustrating!

    Those ASICS Women's Gel-Lyte33-3 Running Shoes look very lightweight. I currently wear Ryka's for running and although I love them, I'm looking for something different, so I may check those out. :)
