Boutique Week Excitement!

One of the (many) fun things about being a boutique owner, is being a boutique owner in York, PA. Specifically York City. The atmosphere, the energy, the growth, and the potential is out of this world. New businesses are opening up left and right, and it seems more and more people are venturing downtown. Nothing beats consumers that actually want to support small businesses and shop local (year round, not just once a year).

For the third year, York City will be hosting York City Boutique Week. I guess you could say this is our version of Fashion Week, but better. This is a week to highlight downtown's small and independently owned home and apparel retailers and eateries! Each year, it just seems to get better and better. This year though is extra special for me because I get to be apart of the planning! Although overwhelming and stressful, I wouldn't want to be doing anything else!

If you are in the York area, definitely make it a point to come through downtown during the week of September 2-6. The lineup of events is pretty awesome, with the main event being the fashion show that Friday!

Here is the lineup of events happening throughout the week, specifically at my boutique, Elizabeth & West

TUESDAY

Start the week off at our Kick Off Fall Trends Luncheon. I am super excited to have Blair of Blair Ritchey Handbags attending the event with me to chat about fall trends, and what you should expect to see hitting the shelves! The other downtown boutique owners will be attending as well to give their input on what fall trends we should expect to see!

WEDNESDAY
Wednesday evening is going to be pretty eventful! This day's event will be the Shopping Happy Hour, taking place from 5-7 pm! Beaver Street will be shut down during those hours, there will be live models in our shop windows, beer samplings from the Beer Ace at every boutique, and food trucks courtesy of Foodstruck York! At Elizabeth & West, Blair Ritchey will be sticking around for a trunk show from 5-7. She will be debuting her FW14 collection- the little preview I saw is amazing

THURSDAY
Thursday is trunk show day! All of the participating boutiques will each be holding trunk shows at their specific locations. I am super excited to be having my second trunk show of the week with Violet & Burke. Designer Tabitha will be there to debut her new fall collection (which I have seen, and LOVE). This event will be taking place from 5-7!

FRIDAY
I am certain this is what I am most excited about, along with everyone else participating and attending Boutique Week! Not only is this the First Friday of September, but it is also the culminating event of the week, our fashion show! This will take place at Central Market at 7:00, with the first 100 attendees receiving an exclusive swag bag with goodies from all of the fashion show participants (which you can see here...you can also purchase tickets there as well)

SATURDAY
The week wraps up with a fun event for the kids! The Kid's Tea and Fashion Show will be held from 12:00-2:00! Parents and kids (along with their favorite doll/teddy bear/action figure) will enjoy fashion related activities and crafts, make-your-own charm bracelet, make-your-own swag bag, a progressive tea luncheon, cupcake bar and candy bar, dress up fashion photo booth, kids fashion demonstrations from different downtown merchants(including Violet & Burke), and lots of prizes! Whew! Really though, what a cute little Mommy/Daddy and Me thing to do on a Saturday!

Follow along over the next month for updates on all of the Boutique Week happenings, and stay tuned on the blog because I will be having my own little Boutique Week fun on here with a chance to WIN your very own swag bag!!!

Here is to being overwhelmed, stressed and sleep deprived over the next month, but in the BEST way possible!!!!!
