Before this weekend, I can’t tell you the last time I was truly measured for a bra. I know it hasn’t been since Ella has been born, and she is 6! Yikes. In six years, I have gained and lost weight too many times to count and have had two children. As you can imagine, a lot has changed as far as what I should and should not wear in the bra department.
But still, I haven’t gotten measured. Bra’s have always been something that I don’t like to buy or spend a lot of money on. I would rather spend fifty bucks on something that people will actually see! I am also not a super fancy bra wearer. Plain and simple is fine for me! I know…so boring!
Knowing it has been at least 6 years since I have been measured, I figured it was about time, right? Kohl’s has this awesome feature on their website that allows you to find your perfect bra fit online, in the comfort of your own home. So for those of you that don’t really like a stranger invading your personal space like that, this feature is great!
On top of this cool online fitting feature, Kohl’s is also offering free ‘If the Bra Fits Event’ in store. You can check out if they are coming to a Kohl’s near you here.
I headed to Kohl’s over the weekend for a local bra fitting event. Mind you, I not only have not been measured in years, but I have also not gone ‘bra shopping.’ Bra shopping to me was saying “I think I am this size, this looks like a comfortable bra, I think I will get it.” I am not even kidding….I know, it’s terrible!
Amy was a super helpful and super knowledgeable employee. And believe it or not, I actually have been wearing the correct size- just the wrong bra. I had no clue there were so many things to think about when trying on bras (probably because I have never actually tried them on before). Although tedious and time consuming, it was great because I was able to realize what I liked, what I didn’t like, what did and did not look good, and what helped keep my boobs looking like I haven’t had two children!
I left with four bras-ones that actually fit and serve a purpose! I also left with some new undies as well. Because I buy super plain bras, I wanted to treat myself to something a little fun!
I ended up leaving there with the Olga No Compromise Full Figure Convertible Bra (no padding, which is a stretch for me, but SO comfy), and the Warner’s No Side Effects in three colors. This obviously was my absolute favorite. I love it because it has a little extra coverage on the side (you can see in the picture above) to to help eliminate underarm fat or side boob as I call it (or I could lay off the cookies, right?!).
Hands down, my Warner’s bras are my favorite (hello…I did buy them in three colors!). Super comfy and the added feature of slimming my underarm fat is a bonus! Lately, it seems like my go-to look has been jeans, a tee, and a flowy kimono. These bras are great under my tee shirts, because they are smooth, not bulky and make my chest look pretty good for a 32 year old Mom!
I am telling you- if you are anything like me and haven’t been measured in a long time, bite the bullet and do it. Bra shopping isn’t as fun as shoe shopping, but you will be so glad when it’s done. Plus, Kohl’s makes it pretty easy and fool proof. And if you do the measuring at home, it saves you some time in store! And their bras are affordable, which is my cup of tea!
