Happy Birthday to my Main Squeeze

Today is my husband's 32nd birthday, so I am overloading you with pictures of him! This is the 14th birthday of his we have celebrated together and I can't wait for the many, many more birthday's we get to celebrate together! He is supportive in so many ways, puts up with my crap, obliges when I tell him for the millionth time "we have to take blog pics today" and is the sweetest, most giving husband! Dedicating a blog post to him is the least I can do to show him how amazing and wonderful he is :)

Happy birthday, Ry. I love you so much! These are some of my favorite pictures of us over the years!

Happy birthday to my best friend, my better half! I love you so much!! If only the girls didn't have gymnastics and you a soccer game to play tonight we could celebrate the way you deserve! Instead, we will settle for sandwiches, chips and cookies for dinner :) I LOVE YOU!

Weekend Wear

With my weeks being so hectic, when the weekend rolls around, I pretty much just want comfort, and nothing else. Typically, my Saturday's consist of working all day at the store then squeezing in as much time with my husband and girls as possible.

Because of that, heels are out of the question! Oversized tee's and blazers are a go-to of mine. I usually toss on a pair of sandals or flats, but wasn't feeling either of those. My new ankle boots from Target were a perfect substitute (size up- I don't have wide feet at all and a 7.5-I am usually a 7-were soooo snug on me)

Outfit Details:
Blazer: Lauren Conrad for Kohls (similar) /// Shirt: Target /// Jeans: Old Navy /// Boots: Target (in store, similar) /// Purse: Philip Lim for Target (similar) /// Necklace: Stella and Dot /// Watch: Target /// Bracelets: Stella and Dot, Cookie Lee /// Sunglasses: Ray Ban

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Lounge in Style at Home

I wanted to share with you all my latest post for Susquehanna Style! I know how easy it is to get in a fashion rut outside of the home, and how its even easier to get into a bigger rut when lounging at home! (I am point my finger at myself the most, here!) Time to get rid of those stained, holey yoga pants and make room for new, affordable, versatile and comfy pieces!

If you are anything like me, the first thing you do when you get home is take off all of your jewelry and change into comfortable clothes. I feel sorry for my husband, because there are some days where he gets home after I do. By the time he makes it through the door, I am already in my yoga pants (that I wear for lounging and sleeping, not yoga) and oversized t-shirt.
Over time, with any clothing, you get tired of wearing the same thing over and over. It gets old, worn-in (although sometimes those are the best clothes) and less flattering. And as much as we as a society say our looks shouldn’t matter as much as what is on the inside, I feel better about myself and get more accomplished when I am ‘put together.’ That applies to when I am home too! I find when I stay in my pajamas I am lazier; cleaning doesn’t get done, emails don’t get answered and makeup doesn’t get applied.
With these thoughts in mind, I went on a mission to round up some stylish and wallet-friendly loungewear.
I found a few loungewear staples that are great to wear at home and give you the comfortable, not sloppy, look: leggings, open cardigan/sweater, crew sweatshirts and graphic tees. What you will not see: matching velour tracksuits (I am guilty of owning those in the past- in several colors too)

All from Target: 1 /// 2 /// 3 ///4

Graphic Tee's:
All from Old Navy: 1 /// 2 /// 3 /// 4

The great thing about a lot of these pieces is that they are all pretty neutral. Mixing and matching them is a breeze, which gives you more versatility and more wear. It’s fun to add a bold print or a bright piece to your loungewear, but neutrals are really the way to go. Plus, some of these items, particularly the graphic tee's and the cardigans, can be worn outside of lounging at home. For example, casual errand running, or a low key play date, or for a coffee or lunch date! You will definitely get your money’s worth. Happy lounging!

Comfy Plaid

Nothing beats the weekends where you have no plans, am I right? Well, if you read my post yesterday, you know this past weekend wasn't one of those for us. But, the previous weekend was. Sunday rolled around and we realized we hadn't made a stop at the fair. (little tidbit- the York Fair is known as "America's first fair!) After Charlotte's nap, we rounded up the troops and decided to brave the fair- cheesy games, and fried food were definitely on the agenda!

With that in mind, I knew I wanted comfort for obvious reasons! I had been wanting to break out my newest plaid from Old Navy so I figured this would be perfect! I think it would be super easy to dress the plaid up a bit with a pair of nude heels and a blazer, but for this outfit, my vest and Converse were the perfect finishing touch! Plus, it was roomy enough for me to feast on fried Oreos and cotton candy! (seriously, how could you not go to a fair and NOT get fried oreos!)

Outfit Details:
Vest: Old Navy (great winter version) /// Top: Old Navy /// Jeans: American Eagle /// Shoes: Converse /// Sunglasses: Old Navy (in store, similar) /// Purse: Target /// Necklace: Stella and Dot /// Watch: La Mer /// Bracelets: Elizabeth & West (in store), Stella and Dot (old)

I have already worn this shirt a few times and I know I will get my wear out of it a lot in the coming months. It is such a basic piece to have in your wardrobe. I feel like a plaid button up is something that will never go out of style (if even just to me!).

Hope you have a great day! See you back here Friday!! In the mean time, don't forget to head on over to Because of Jackie and enter her awesome giveaway I am a part of! Good luck!

Liquid Leggings and Wine

Well this weekend was quite eventful! I had every intention of blogging for yesterday, but then Sunday happened and that plan flew out the window. Remember my post from last week about blog organization and being flexible? Yeah- Sunday called for flexibility. (Ps-this is going to be a long, but picture filled post!)

It all started out totally normal- my husband and I were headed out for brunch at a local restaurant (or so I though). My parents were in town for Charlotte's 2nd birthday party (which was so much fun) so we thought we would take advantage and sneak out for a couple of hours. Blog pictures were on the agenda, of course! I've told you I can't get enough of my liquid leggings (here and here), and you know by now how versatile they really can be! I thought wearing them to brunch was in order. Adding a dolman tunic and a comfy jacket and I was set. \

Jacket: Elizabeth & West /// Dolman Tunic: Elizabeth & West /// Liquid Leggings: Old Navy /// Booties: Sole Society /// Purse: Target /// Necklaces: Stella and Dot Engravables /// Bracelets: Alex and Ani, Kimman's /// Watch: Target

Here is where the rest of the day just get's better and better! Before we went into brunch, my husband said we had to stop by my store for a minute (my store is just a few doors down from where we were eating brunch). I was so confused, but pretty much just go along with whatever my husband says. In my store, were 7 of my closest friends, all dressed in head to toe Elizabeth & West! Surprise! At this point, I was feeling super overwhelmed-in a good way- because I had no clue what was going on!

My husband had planned a girls day for my girlfriends and me! It wasn't my birthday, no anniversary in sight, so why the random girls day? You see, this past year has been a little rough for me, with the closing of one business, not having a job...to now living my dream. Amazing how things turn around, isn't it? Last year at this time, I never in a million years would have though that I would be where I am now. My husband wanted to give me a day to just relax, enjoy where I am in my life, and celebrate my accomplishments (I know- to say he is amazing is an understatement).  These seven ladies in particular have each played a really important part in my life in the last year to get me where I am now-whether it was just being a shoulder to cry on, bounce ideas off of them, collaborating, drinking, crying, laughing, eating. (side note-if he could have, he would have invited every one of my friends and my whole family, but hey- we haven't won the lottery yet!)

Nikki- one of my best friends/Charlotte's Godmother, Jess-also one of my best friends (for almost 14 years...14!!), Samantha- a constant encouragement/coffee bringer, Susan- couldn't run my business without her-she may drink on the job but she is the best Chief Marketing Officer there is (hehe), Tabitha-my friend in faith, one of the most selfless people I know, Natalie-without her, I wouldn't be living my dream (literally- she is the one who contacted me about the relate location I am in now!), Kristin- also one of my best friends, again for 14 years! Yikes we are old!

From my store, my husband told us we were heading to brunch! Mind you, we all still had NO CLUE what we were doing the rest of the day! He apparently just told the girls a time to meet and what to wear! (If you haven't noticed, I am pretty darn lucky).

From there, a gorgeous limo picked us up and took us on a super awesome winery tour the rest of the day! (now you know why I did not post yesterday) I couldn't have asked for a better day, better friends or a better husband!

That would be Susan and me in the same Liquid Leggings. And yes, we were wearing the exact same top as well- but in different colors :)

And if you have ever wondered....drunk women spend money. Proof? We ended up back at my store (because that's where we began) and they immediately began shopping (in the dark).

I am sure most of us were feeling a little rough on Monday, but to me it was totally worth it. The limo ride belting Sir Mix A Lot, drinking wine slushies, introducing old friends to new ones, realizing the world is smaller than we thought, and just enjoying each other's company- that's what its all about (and the hokey pokey). To be able to spend the day with some of the most important people in my life and those that were such great support systems during some yucky times was priceless. I'm a lucky girl to call these ladies friends, and even luckier to have a husband who cares and loves so much! And even luckier to have the awful wine headache gone!!!

Also- my good blog bud Meagan is having a great giveaway...head on over to her blog and check it out!

Wear it Four Ways: Liquid Leggings

I know I haven't done this in a while! But, it's back (for today at least!) and I can't wait to share with you what I have put together!

I have grown fond of my liquid leggings over the last couple of months. And bonus- they are restocked online at Old Navy! They are going fast though-this isn't the first time they have sold out!

I have worn mine a ton already (as seen here and here), and really the possibilities are endless. I like them because they are comfortable (obviously), but they take your outfit up a notch-a little more than when you are just wearing basic leggings. I think because of their texture, they make them a little dressier as well!

Take a look at what I came up with and give them a try!

Outfit 1:
Hat: Old Navy /// Chambray: Target /// Tote: Forever 21 /// Booties: Forever 21 /// Leggings: Old Navy /// Scarf: Forever 21

Outfit 2:
Sweater: Zara /// Booties: Target /// Ring: Kendra Scott /// Sunglasses: Target /// Hat: Target

Outfit 3:
Blazer: H&M/// Shirt: H&M/// Tote: H&M/// Earrings: Stella and Dot/// Shoes: Steve Madden

Outfit 4:
Dress: H&M /// Sunglasses: Target /// Backpack: Target /// Jacket: H&M /// Shoes: Target

I tried to style these for several different occasion- weekend errand running, girls night out or date night, work- if you can get away with these types of leggings. Despite the "leather" look of them, I really think it's all in how you style them, really! I mean really for $19, you can't go wrong!!

Hope you all have a great weekend! Today is my baby girl's 2nd birthday so we will be celebrating today and tomorrow! Where has the time gone?!?!

Buffalo Check and Great Skin

I have come to grow fond of buffalo check anything- in years past to me it was for lumberjacks and woodsmen (is that even a person?) but I have been finding things in that print that I would love to work into my wardrobe!

This dress immediately caught my eye. Loved it, have been wanting to try the drop waist for a while now, and the price was perfect! Really though, when is the price not perfect at Old Navy?

It was perfect to wear to church this past weekend- comfy enough and practical enough to get me through the day!

Although I must say, I totally though it was red and black- it looked like it online and when I was getting dressed, but as I was uploading the pictures, it occurred to me that it could possibly be navy blue? Now I am stumped....

Regardless, I love how I styled it (with black in mind!). When the temps dip even more, I plan on adding a pair of thick tights with the boots!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Old Navy /// Jacket: Gap (similar option for fall) /// Shoes: Target (similar) /// Bag: Blair Ritchey /// Bracelets: Stella and Dot (old) /// Watch: Target /// Hat: Old Navy

This was also a day where I felt like I was having a good skin/makeup day. Ever have one of those days? I just felt like my makeup applied exactly the way I wanted it too, my eyelashes looked great, and my skin felt so awesome.

I've been trying out Eu2Be's products over the last few weeks and have been loving how it has made my skin feel. I love that it's all natural and paraben free. You can read their breakdown of ingredients here. I like it because it's easy to understand, and I can actually pronounce them! Even better is they are Made in the USA, with some added Brazilian oils. My favorite has been their Enrich and Radiate Oil. Their Shower & Soak Soap as well as their Nurture & Nourish Lotion are great (and are to be used before the oil) but my fave was definitely the oil! The conditioning oil glided on so easily and actually soaked into my skin. It sucks sometimes when you use a lotion or oil on your face and have to wait forever for it to soak in, or it leaves you feeling oily for the rest of the day. I didn't feel that way at all with the oil- can't get over how soft it makes my skin feel! It's amazing how something as simple as your face wash can give you a little extra kick in your step!
