Simply Stylist LA

Hey everyone! Hope you are having a great week so far. I know it's rare that I don't post until Wednesday, but it was a busy weekend!

I headed out to LA Friday morning for Simply Stylist with my friend Sage. We stayed with our friend Robyn (the talent behind Robyn Rhodes Jewelry). I got back well after midnight on Tuesday so needless to say I am exhausted!

Anyway, I thought I would share with you all a recap of my awesome weekend.

This wasn't my first time attending Simply Stylist. I went to the NYC one last October and really enjoyed it. My girls and I decided that we would try and make it to the LA one, because why not make a trip to LA (plus we would get to stay with Robyn)?!?!

It was great going to the conference knowing a little of what to expect and how to prepare for it ahead of time. For those of you that aren't aware of Simply Stylist, it is a great conference that is designed for career minded individuals that are interested in anything from fashion to beauty. Everyone who attends gets the opportunity to learn and network!

The day started with a great VIP brunch- such delicious food, but I think the best part was the gift card to Barney's! Ok, ok, and the networking and chatting! During the brunch, we got to hear Elissa, the founder of The Farley Project speak. When you purchase your ticket to Simply Stylist, you are also donating to The Farley Project. Elissa is an extremely inspirational woman. You can read more about her and The Farley Project here.

A big chunk of the day is spent listening to experts-taking mental notes, getting inspiration, ideas, you name it. Catt Sadler was the host and kicked things off for everyone. She interviewed the keynote speaker, Alessandra Ambrosio. She spoke about her line Ale by Alessandra, and how she balances it all (while looking flawless, mind you!).

The blogger panel included some well known gals, and was moderated by Lauren Gores of Lauren's Lyst.  Wendy of Wendy's Lookbook, Jenna Chae of From Head to Toe, and Cara Santana actress and founder of the Glam App (think Uber for beauty) all shared their personal thoughts and experiences on growing and learning in the industry!

Next up was the panel of experts moderated by Marcy Guevara, tv personality and the voice behind the Marcy Minute. Stassi Schroeder (of Vanderpump Rules), fashion designer Michael Costello, and Maria Hatzistefanis, founder of Rodial Skincare. The three of them chatted about how they got started, all of the hard work that was put into them living their dreams, and were just overall motivating!

The last panel was moderated by fashion and lifestyle blogger Ashley Fultz of the Style Editrix. She chatted with the hilarious celeb hair and makeup artist Joey Maalouf, celeb stylist Mary Alice Haney, and celeb makeup artist Christy Coleman (also the brains behind Beauty Counter). They shared some awesome advice, and even funnier stories!

After the panels was the brand experience. You get to chat with all of the brands attending, meet them, their PR people and just make connections. Speaking of connections, one of my favorite things about the whole blogging world (and conferences like this) is making new friends. I was thrilled to be able to finally meet Ashley of Afternoon Espresso and Lauren of Style Elixir. It's so awesome to have the online-blogging-friendship become real life! Had a great time meeting them!

Overall, I just can't say enough good things about the whole event. I leave feeling motivated, inspired and ready to try new things and step out of my comfort zone. If you have ever considered attending, you definitely should. There is another date in Chicago this July, as well as again in October in NYC.

Once again, one of the best weekends surrounded by some pretty awesome ladies!

Later this week I will share (most) of my outfits from the weekend! It's hard to remember to get outfit pictures when you are having so much fun!

Thank you, Simply Stylist for such a wonderful weekend!!
