Easy Transitional Skirt

You all know how much I love a good versatile, transitional piece, especially when it's affordable!

Last week, I went to visit my best friend/cousin Betsy in Florida. My brother surprised me with a roundtrip ticket for the two of us to visit Bets and her husband Ian. We don't get to see each other than often so to say I was excited was an understatement.

You see, Bets and I are only one month and 8 days apart in age and have always been the best of friends (even when we were younger and fought like sisters). She was the sister I never had, and her friendship has always been constant, even when she was out to sea. Literally-she worked for Norwegian Cruise Lines for years so she was out to sea a lot! I was thrilled to be able to spend some much needed quality time with her, and to squeeze some more warm weather into my life before our weather turns brutal here in the north.

While I was super excited to go, packing was challenging! Aside from the fact that nothing fits me the way I want it to (helloooo diet...again.), I am in full fall/winter transition mode here in PA, which is so not what the weather is like in Florida!

I did treat myself to a few new things before I left, but I made sure that they were items that I could easily transition into the colder weather once I got back home. This skirt is the perfect example. It was great to pair with a tee and sandals in the Florida heat (seriously, how do these Florida style bloggers wear thick sweaters and hats all.the.time.) but will easily transition!

Outfit Details:
Top: Target /// Skirt: Target /// Sandals: Target /// Bag: Blair Ritchey /// Necklace: Kendra Scott

Now that I am back from my trip (booooo) my mind is on how to wear this skirt for the fall. Add some layers, thick tights and boots and you are good to go! I love the versatility of this skirt!

Sweater: J.Crew Factory /// Skirt: Target /// Necklace: Robyn Rhodes /// Fur Vest: H&M /// Booties: Forever 21 /// Sunglasses: Nasty Gal /// Tights: Kohls /// Bag: Forever 21

And thank you to my bff, my cousin Bets for taking my photos....it was a roller coaster ride taking them because my sim card was being weird, and my flash kept going off for no reason, so there was a lot of "take it from this angle, but hold the sim card in while holding the flash down." HA!! Love you, Bets!

If any of you are in the Orlando area, she will be in Universal Studios show Grinchmas this holiday season! You won't want to miss it!

  1. So glad you shared this! this totally inspired me. I have a similar skirt that I have only worn once and recently put in the Goodwill pile. Now I'm going to pull it back out and recreate the winter look you created.
