Fun in Fringe

Ohhhh this dress! I had such a fun time wearing it. I mean how can you not when fringe is involved?! The great thing about this dress is not only the fringe but it is super comfortable as well. It allowed me to move, breathe, eat. My draped faux leather jacket and Blair Ritchey PAK was the perfect finishing touch for the night!

While I did dress it up a bit for a downtown event I had the other week, I do think it would look super cute dressed down with a pair of black Converse and a denim jacket. Or even when it gets a little warmer, pairing it with a pair of strappy sandals would look great as well!

Sunday Best

I have a love/hate relationship with Sundays. I love them because it is literally the only day of the week that we get to spend the whole day as a family. Ryan works Mon-Friday and I work Tues-Saturday. So Sunday is literally our only day.

That's why I love it- its our day. We have a routine of church, donuts, grocery shopping and relaxing the rest of the day (unless we have plans). We get to actually spend the whole day together! Crazy, right?

The "hate" part of the relationship is that it's Sunday. Monday means back to work, back to the weekly grind and having to get up earlier than we would like to get Ella off to school.

Typically though, I love to be somewhat comfortable for the day. I mean, is it really any different than any other day of the week? Not really, hahaha!

I wore this shirt in Disney and figured I would give it another run, this time styled a little differently. That's what I love about graphic tee's. They can be worn so many different ways! I plan on wearing this shirt with my faux leather midi skirt and denim jacket just to dress it up a bit. This shirt has since sold out, but I have included some other great options to consider!

And can I just talk about this bag? Oh this bag! If you have been a follower of my blog for any time you know that I am a fan of Blair Ritchey's bags. I have several, and seem to add to my collection as much as possible. Not only is the quality great, but they are Made in the USA. A lot of thought and care is put into each of the bags, by Blair herself.

Ryan got me the PAK for my birthday (which you will see on the blog next week). I had a little birthday and blogging money so I figured I would treat myself to her newest bag, the Penn Carry-All. It's release was timed perfectly with the birth of her beautiful baby boy, Penn.

What's great about this bag is that it is so versatile. Blair's intention when making the bag was as a diaper bag for herself, but it can be so much more than that. I obviously don't need to use this as a diaper bag at this point. It makes a great work bag, which is what I currently use it for, but it also would make a great carry on bag, or even a weekender!

It can also be carried three different ways-by the leather handles, over the shoulder or as a backpack (my favorite)!!

As if this bag couldn't get any better, it has a lot of other great features to it. It is lined with coated Ripstop in a gorgeous Kelly Green color. It's nice because it is easy to wipe clean if you happen to have any mishaps or spills inside the bag!

The bag itself is made with water resistant canvas, so no need to worry about it getting ruined if it gets wet at all. Blair's a mom- she gets that our lives can be messy!

The Penn also has seven interior pockets and two exterior side pocket, as well as an interior lanyard to keep your keys handy-I also clip my little zip wallet (from the Blair's Lango Messenger) to the lanyard to keep that handy as well.

Disney Outfits Part 2

I'm back for part two of my Disney outfits! I shared a few of my outfits on Monday, so today I am rounding out the rest of my trip. I did not include my travel outfits- I did a separate travel post here!

I loved this shirt. Like obsessed with it. Besides the fact that it was super comfortable, it couldn't have been more perfect for a trip to Disney World. Unfortunately, I did have to adult that day, and the whole time I was there, actually. Damn kids (I kid, I kid). I got this shirt from the same place the the Best Friends tees that my cousin and I wore in this post. Super fast shipping, reasonable prices and the tees are so darn soft!

This outfit was worn on the last day in Animal Kingdom. At this point I wanted to just be as comfortable as possible, so a looser fitting tee and oversized cardigan was just what the doctor ordered. I love ILY Couture's selection of tee shirts, as well as their fit. I probably could have sized down, but I actually liked the looser, longer fit! This shirt has since sold out, but there are a ton of other cute options!

Hopefully these posts gave you some style inspiration for any trips you have coming up. If that trip happens to be Disney, then you are set (and I am totally jealous)! Enjoy!

Disney Outfits Part 1

Yep. There's more than one part. I went to Disney with every intention of actually taking outfit pictures (or "photo shoots" as the big kids say). I didn't really have a game plan, but I had our camera ready to go and my photographer on hand (also known as Daddy).

I think it wasn't long into the first day that I quickly realized it wasn't going to happen. Like ever. We had a tight schedule the whole week, with dinners, fast passes, princess meetings and what not. Plus, it's one thing to make Ella and Charlotte wait while Ryan takes my pictures, but it's another to make my parents and my brother.

Taking them in the morning before we left would require waking up even earlier (no thanks) and taking them when we got home from the parks was out of the question- I mean, I just spent the whole day walking 8 or more miles, pushing a stroller and parenting in Disney. You get the picture.

So here we are, with several simple phone pictures of my outfits. I am splitting them into two posts because well, it's just plain easier.

I wore this outfit the first day, and I would say it was one of my favorites. Unfortunately, the majority of the day was spent wearing a poncho because it poured. It ended up being super cold the week we were there-I wasn't prepared but luckily I tossed in a long sleeved black/white striped shirt from my store. I literally wore it every day but one just as added warmth. Luckily it matched everything I wore!

My best friend/cousin lives close to Disney so lucky for us, she and her husband met up with us for two days while we were there. We had the best time ever with each other and my girls just love them so much!

I stumbled on these 'best friends' tees on Etsy and couldn't resist getting them for us to wear. While a little cheesy, they were just too cute, and I knew Betsy and I would style and wear them well!

I snagged this Old Navy sweatshirt last minute before we left. I got so many compliments from random people while wearing this- they were all shocked to see that it was an Old Navy sweatshirt. It is super comfortable without being an overly bulky at all.

As for packing-if you have a trip to Disney coming up, here are a few tips:

You really only need comfy shoes. Period. I packed a couple nicer flats and ended up not wearing them. I literally wore sneakers the whole time. I packed maybe two nicer outfits thinking my husband and I would go out-never happened. We were so exhausted at the end of every day we chose bed over going out!

Comfort, comfort and comfort. While I love to be in style all the time, I put comfort a little higher up on the scale for this trip. It's not a fashion show at Disney (says the fashion blogger who had her husband take outfit pics). Really, everyone is too concerned with making sure their kids don't have a tantrum.

Color coordinate. I know it seems daunting, but it helped me with my packing. I was able to pack less (I was 11 lbs under the max weight with my suitcase...I know- 11 lbs! my response when I found out was "huh. I wonder if I should pack more?") I started with my sneakers. They were mostly black, white, or red, so I just based my outfits off of that-made things so much easier!

Plan for the cold. If you go this time of year, there is a chance that it will be freezing (for Florida). It was in the 50's and windy while we were there-we weren't prepared for that at all. We had to buy our girls sweatshirts, and my husband and I had to layer to the point of being almost uncomfortable. Word to the wise, pack layers just to be safe.

Pack a great, hassle free smaller purse. I had a backpack that I filled with different incidentals and snacks that we kept in the stroller storage, but I also wanted to use a smaller purse to wear that wouldn't hurt my shoulders (isn't that the worst?) and that would allow me to keep a few things on hand-cell phone, portable charger, chapstick, a snack or two. The Blair Ritchey PAK was my go-to bag for the whole week. Lightweight enough that I didn't even notice I was wearing it, super roomy, matched everything and so stylish.

Stay tuned for the second part of my Disney outfits later this week!

Off the Shoulder Style

I am pretty sure this is the last of my Mexico looks, so I won't be torturing you anymore with pictures from warm and sunny locations after this post! (I won't count Disney, because it was coooold while I was there)

I wore this Forever 21 dress on our last night there-I could have definitely sized up if I wanted it to be a little more flowy instead of somewhat figure hugging. It will look great either way, regardless of whether it's worn looser and flowier or more fitted like mine.

What sold me on this dress was the color-it was an interesting rust shade, different from what I have worn and seen before. It felt kind of good to wear some color (especially since I have been wearing nothing but black/gray/white lately)!

My Bathing Suit Style and Top Picks

I think I had just as much fun planning and packing my swimsuits as I did my actual outfits. I have found that if I look at each swimsuit as an outfit, or a "look" as opposed to just a swimsuit, I enjoy wearing it more. Plus I feel as though my attitude is shifting a bit as well (you can read about that here).

Instead of just heading to the beach or the pool in just a bathing suit, I toss on a cute coverup, matching sandals, a hat and sunglasses. I am not one to wear a lot of jewelry on the beach or at the pool, mainly because I don't trust myself wearing jewelry when it can be lost or ruined easily, but that is also a nice finishing touch for a whole "swimsuit look."

I did have several suits that I packed with me for Mexico, and they all got worn, believe it or not! Some more than others, but they all got a little love while we were there.

This Forever 21 two piece was one of my favorites. It was so comfortable-I don't think I had to tug or pull at it once while I was wearing it. I felt super stylish, and even more confident. I felt like anything but a "mom" wearing it!

Bathing Suit Top: Forever 21 /// Bathing Suit Bottom: Forever 21 /// Coverup: Target (similar) /// Sunglasses: Charming Charlie

This particular Target one piece pushed me a little out of my comfort zone. I felt really exposed in my chest area which took some getting used to. I was tugging at the top a lot just out habit I guess? I did get a lot of compliments on it, and I did get used to it as the day progressed.

Bathing Suit: Target /// Kimono: Target /// Sandals: Target (similar) /// Hat: Target /// Sunglasses: Forever 21

I absolutely loved this suit. It was a tad big, but I chose to order the plus size version because it had more coverage in the back than the non plus size version. I am comfortably a 12, but ordered the 16W (that's the smallest plus size they have). I knew it was going to be too big, it was just a matter of how big-if it was going to be a doable big or just way too big. Obviously, it ended up being doable. Because it was fuller coverage, I felt super comfortable in it!

I loved these last two suits. Chic, stylish, and comfortable. I wore an XL in the green and a L in the striped! Both felt great and I felt great in them. They both had the type of coverage I was looking for, too. (the green left me feeling a little exposed in the front at first but I quickly got over that)

I don't know if you have checked out Target's swimsuit selection lately but it is AMAZING. I could easily have purchased a dozen bathing suits, and that is just talking about the one pieces! Check out my top picks. I also included some great Forever 21 picks as well, because they have an awesome selection also!

To complete the look, shop some of my favorite kimono, sandals, and other accessories! Enjoy!

Flowy Chambray

I don't know if it helps, or if it's torture doing all of these posts from our vacation to Mexico while it is 8 degrees outside (feels like -2) with the threat of more snow and ice on the horizon. I will say it is fun to look back on the pictures and imagine the sand between my toes, rather than snow!

I had purchased this dress a while ago with no place to wear it. I knew the Mexico would (eventually) be in the near future so that totally justified the purchase! I felt so girly in the dress- might have had something to do with all of the frills. I will say, this is a great piece to add to your closet if you have some sort of tropical destination coming up. Even if you don't it's a great dress to just toss on when you aren't sure what to wear (obvi when weather permits).

I wore it to one of our dinners one evening, but I did toss it on a couple of times to run out for a drink/grab a snack, and it made me feel like I at least looked a little more put together than I felt! It's great for a casual special occasion, or just to toss on for some quick errands!
