Red, White and Blue Style

Hope you all had a great weekend! My husband and I spent ours in NYC...hands down, my most favorite place. We took Ella for a belated birthday present- we got her tickets to see Matilda on Broadway....it was AMAZING. I recommend seeing it before it closes January 1. She had never been to NYC before so I was excited to share with her a place that is near and dear to me. I started going to NYC when I was 4 or 5....my family and I would go a few times a year to see a show. While I don't go as often as I used to (seeing that my parents don't pay for my trips anymore...boooo! And work and whatnot) it still holds such a special place in my heart!

Ella had such a great time, and can't wait to go back (and neither can I!!)

When it comes to summer holidays, like Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, I am not one to get too dolled up. Getting decked out in obvious red, white, and blue isn't my cup of tea. For others, if that's what they prefer, then by all means, go for it! I prefer more subtle red white and blue, incorporated in ways that are small, such as accessories!

I wore this white dress already (you can see it here on the blog) several times....it was such a good purchase because it's not only comfortable but it's versatile, too. This was perfect for me to wear to church, but also just as great to wear for a relaxing day spent with my family....just swapping out the wedges for flat sandals and tossing my hair up in a top knot was easy!
