Off the Shoulder Fun

I was initially on the fence about this dress. I ordered my typical size but when I tried it on realized I probably could have sized down. But with my luck, it was sold out. Do I keep it, or do I return it?

I realize a dress like this does absolutely nothing for my figure, but I loved the loose feeling of it, along with the nautical-ish stripes. The crochet detail that tops it off eventually won me over. Sometimes you just have to say the heck with it if you feel comfortable enough in it, am I right?

This was great to wear at the beach-while it was ridiculously hot, this was the next best thing to wearing nothing! Unfortunately, this dress is sold out, but I've included some really great options below that would look absolutely adorable with my favorite gold gladiator sandals!

Striped Jersey Dress-Two Ways

I am a sucker for a good jersey dress. I feel like they could be the equivalent to wearing pajamas in public. They can also be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion!

I initially wore this dress for our ride down to the beach-with a 5:00 am wake up call and being on the road by 6:00, I knew I wanted nothing but comfort. Being a Mommy, I also needed to wear something that I could move easily in during the car ride-there's lots of reaching, and turning around to get this or that!

This dress also doubled as another outfit for me to wear out and about at the beach. It was easy to toss on for breakfast and mini golfing! Plus, it's under $30 and comes in multiple colors!

Red Fringe Fun

I really can't pass up a super cute and fun pair of sandals. I saw this pair (in red-no longer available) and immediately fell in love, then fell out of love when I saw the price. Nope. Not paying $158 for a pair of sandals. Couldn't do it, and I knew my husband probably wouldn't appreciate it either!

So off I went, searching and searching the internet until I was able to find a pair that were so similar and a fraction of the cost. GO ME! This particular pair was pretty much identical-I couldn't resist! They paired so well with this midi dress and my panama hat. Such a classic, ageless, summer look!

I wore this one evening when we had some last minute errands to run before I left for LA. I made sure I packed this whole outfit in my suitcase! It was a great outfit to wear when Robyn and I were out and about one day! Be careful with the buttons though. I sized down, because the large made me look a little frumpy, but because it was a little more fitted, there were one or two pesky buttons that liked to come undone at times....I just safety pinned them and that solved the problem!

LA Outfit Roundup

I always have good intentions when I head out to LA to have my outfit pictures taken. But then I get there, and taking pictures, or rather having photo shoots for my blog is the last thing on my mind.

I know, terrible blogging, right? Most bloggers use these little vacays as prime blog picture taking time, but for me its just nice to have a breather!

So with that in mind, you will just have to settle with phone pics I forced Robyn to take of me! In true fashion, I overpacked (but not by a lot, though- my luggage was still 10 lbs UNDER weight!) I didn't end up wearing nearly as much as I packed-Friday we spent most of the day in our workout clothes getting stuff done for the photo shoot on Saturday (which was AMAZING...more on that when her Fall/Winter Collection is released in September).

There is one outfit that I won't have in this post-I wore it before I left for LA so my husband was able to snap some pictures before I left-that will be on the blog next week. You don't want to miss it- the shoes are to die for!

I wore this outfit for my travel day. It was basically like wearing pajamas, which was perfect for my long flight! It is plus size-I am wearing an XL. I was hoping it came in small-large, because the large would have been the perfect fit, but an XL was the next best thing, plus I did kind of end up liking it with the looser fit!

Loft Summer Dress/Need Your Help!

Not much to say about this dress other than I love it! It is true to size, which is rare for me at Loft. Typically I can size down in  just about everything of theirs. I'm glad I was able to try this on in store to get the right size.

It's lightweight enough for those super hot summer days (which we have been having lately) but thick enough that it doesn't show your nooks and crannies!

Like most things I wear, I decided to dress this down with a cute pair (better known as my go-to pair) of flat sandals and my favorite Panama Hat. If you needed to dress it up, it would look just as cute with a pair of heels or wedges and an adorable clutch. This dress would be easy to add some fun jewelry too as well.

Also, this dress is currently 50% off-no code needed!

Lastly, and before I forget, I am putting together proposals for collaborations and for potential publishers for my style guide I'm (still) writing and working on, and I want YOU involved!

Here's the deal-part of my proposal will include a video reel: highlights from my work, images of my favorite outfits, screen grabs of awesome reader comments. I also want to include video snippets from you, my readers!

Send me, via email (rebecca1182@gmail.com), a several second video of why you love what I do-what is it about me and my blog that you love?!

It literally only needs to be a couple or so sentences, nothing long! Just think of your thoughts as you read my blog or what you actually comment on my posts!

As a thank you, my dear friend and amazing jewelry designer Robyn Rhodes Jewelry will gift everyone who sends me a few second video an exclusive discount code for $10 off her website! (You'll get this when you send me your video!)

Summer Swimsuit Style

Nothing like a good swimsuit to make you feel great, right? One piece bathing suits have some such a long way over the years- something I am so thankful for. I have talked at length before about great bathing suit style, and how finding the perfect one and embracing who you are can do wonders for you.

When I am shopping for a bathing suit, I have to make sure it not only is cute (duh-that could maybe be the most important thing) but that I can function in it. Gone are the days of me wearing a bathing suit for the sole purpose of lounging in a beach chair or a chaise by the pool. I am running after my girls, playing in the pool and doing a lot of movin' and groovin' so my suit has to be able to keep it together. And by 'it' I mean me!

I love ModCloth for their selection of bathing suits-cute and practical! I feel like they have something for every body, no matter what shape or size you are. I loved this particular one for the print but also the style. I didn't actually feel like a Mom when I was wearing it, which is important to me. Even though I am a Mom, I don't want what I wear to scream  MOM!!!

Target is also another great place to look for bathing suits that are stylish (bonus is they are reasonably priced). This particular summer season I have found the most success with both Target and ModCloth!

Total sidenote, I just wanted to thank you all for the overwhelming love and support from Wednesday's post. There were many times during the day where I was brought to tears from reading people's emails, comments, messages. I had that post written for several weeks before I decided to have it go live- I am so glad I did. You all are amazing and I can't thank you enough for all of the kind words, prayers and love. THANK YOU :)
