Subtle Red, White, Blue and Ruffles

When I saw this dress, I knew that I wanted it-it was just a matter of waiting for it to go on sale. And of course, it did! Unfortunately, it's low in stock, but there are still so many adorable dresses that are still available and bound to go on sale sooner rather than later!

Something like this would be the perfect 4th of July look. I am one for a little subtle red, white and blue rather than and in your face, head to toe, patriotic look.

Total side note-I purchased this hat from Target a couple of years ago. It has a black ribbon around it which I love. But, it does limit me sometimes to what I can wear it with. I wanted tot wear it with this outfit, so I had the idea to pin my little scarf around it to make it a little more versatile-I'm kind of loving it!

Splurging on Great Overalls

I sat and sat on these overalls for the longest time. If you've followed me for a while you may remember I purchased them several months ago and ended up returning them because I just wasn't 100% sold on them.

Fast forward and here we are! I ended up sizing up to an XL and I am pretty pleased with them. These are definitely an investment, which I think is why it took me so long to decide if I truly wanted them and truly loved them.

For some, overalls may be more of a trendy piece, but for me they are more of a classic item that I will continue to reach for again and again.

I had a super less expensive pair from Target that I loved and wore for the past few years, but I finally gave in and upgraded.

This bomber jacket was a no brainer for me-I loved the classic, all American blue and white checkered pattern-it's something I can see myself reaching for over and over!

Our Summer Bucket List

I have never really had a summer bucket list before. I feel like at the beginning of each summer, we have a lot of "we should's"

We should do this!

We should do that!

We should try this!

We should try that!

This summer though, I decided to actually make a bucket list. A couple of my girlfriends made one with their children, so that sort of gave me the push to do one with my girls!

I think having them involved in the list making process made it more fun and definite, if you will.  I feel like it holds us accountable for making more of an effort to try and do more fun things! There were only a few things that we had to put a squash on because it was just too expensive or unrealistic (sorry girls, we aren't going to Disney this summer!)

We cheated a bit and did include some things on the list that we knew we were already going to be doing, but it's still so satisfying being able to check something off a list, is it not?!?!

So without further adieu....here is our bucket list. Of course, some of the things we chose are close to where we live, so they might be out of the question for you. But hopefully some of these will give you a little summer inspiration!

Black Old Navy Jumpsuit + Gingham Espadrilles

I wore this jumpsuit over the weekend-it was perfect for a a little BBQ action at a friend's house. Cute, but comfortable enough to indulge in all of the goodies that we had!

While this particular color is sold out online, it is still available in stores. I wore the pinstriped version here, and I also have the floral print-I just haven't worn it yet!

Some people who are a little curvier aren't sure if wide leg rompers are for them-I say go for it! Styled the right way, they can be so adorable!

Striped Off the Shoulder Dress + the Perfect Hat

I hope you guys don't tire of this hat, because I sure wear a lot of it. It always seems to be the last missing piece of the puzzle when I am putting outfits together in the warmer months. I just feel like it's the perfect finishing touch!

I also kind of love it because it allows me to get an extra day out of my hair! Perfect for those lazy, I-don't-feel-like-washing-my-hair days!

I've had this dress for a few months but just now got around to wearing it. I had brought it with me to LA back in March but just never wore it. It is finally warm enough now to take it for a spin! What I love about this particular dress is that it can be worn over the shoulders as well! I probably could have sized down, but the large I am wearing was nice and roomy!

These sandals are from last year-I've worn them so much! I found an identical pair for a fraction of the cost!

The Best One Piece Bathing Suits for Gals on the Go

It's always this time of year that I am reminded of the trials and tribulations of bathing suit shopping. It's hard to find the perfect bathing suit. I know I share this frustration with other ladies as well. It isn't limited to to Mom's skinny women, curvy, teenagers. It's pretty universal.

I will say that one piece bathing suits have come such a long way over the past several years. I remember self consciously sporting my skimpy bikinis in my early years and rolling my eyes and scoffing at all the unfortunate women who had to sport bland, "mom like" one pieces.

So what makes the perfect one piece bathing suit? For me, it's supportive, fitted but not too tight that it digs in, stays in place (who has time to tug and pull while you are chasing your kids?), covers my rear, is super stylish (I mean, I know I am a mom but I don't have to look like a "mom"), and is good quality. I know I have said this in the past, but I don't mind spending a little more on bathing suits, especially if I know that they will last and won't fall apart after only one wear and wash.

Finding the perfect swimsuit is difficult but I tried to do the dirty work for you. I scoured the internet, looking at website after website, page after page, to find what I deemed "perfect!" A few of these may have made their way into my shopping cart, too! You'll just have to wait and see!

One Shoulder Wonder

No, you aren't seeing things-this is the same shirt I wore on the blog last week. I know I am not alone in that I buy things in multiple colors if I love it! And when it's on sale, why not, right?!

Like I said last week, this shirt is super comfortable and quite versatile! I love the idea of dressing this up with a fab pair of heels and some fun earrings for an easy date night or girls night out look!

Even better?!?! It's on sale for only $11! With that price, you might as well get one in every color, am I right?

Off the Shoulder Ruffles

Is this top not the cutest? When the summer months start to roll around I seem to gravitate towards red, white and blue pairings (of the non-cheesy kind if that makes sense?). I think there can be something so classic about it.

Pair it with an adorable top like this one and you have yourself a winner in my book! I wore this when we were headed to a friends house for a BBQ, so wearing it with jeans and flat sandals was a must. I also think this would look adorable with a pair of white jeans and taupe wedges or even nude, strappy heels!

That's what I love about tops like these-they can be pretty versatile and can easily be dressed up or down when needed!

One Shoulder Weekend

It probably could have been just a tad warmer this past weekend, but I embraced the cooler temps anyway and sported this look- I don't know about you but I am just ready for the warmer temperatures!

I am sure I won't be saying that in a few weeks when it's so hot! Even still, this adorable top will be perfect. It is lightweight enough, and would be perfect to wear even when the summer temperatures begin to rise. What I love about it (besides the color) is it's versatility. It looks great worn casually with a pair of jeans and sandals, but I also think you can't go wrong dressing it up. Pair it with a cute pair of black pixie pants and nude heels and you have an easy, dressier look!
