One Shoulder Weekend

It probably could have been just a tad warmer this past weekend, but I embraced the cooler temps anyway and sported this look- I don't know about you but I am just ready for the warmer temperatures!

I am sure I won't be saying that in a few weeks when it's so hot! Even still, this adorable top will be perfect. It is lightweight enough, and would be perfect to wear even when the summer temperatures begin to rise. What I love about it (besides the color) is it's versatility. It looks great worn casually with a pair of jeans and sandals, but I also think you can't go wrong dressing it up. Pair it with a cute pair of black pixie pants and nude heels and you have an easy, dressier look!

Stripes for Spring and Summer

I know I sound like a broken record when I say weekends are for comfort, but weekends are for comfort! I really do love to dress down as much as I can-it just fits my lifestyle. As much as I love heels, it's can be hard to keep up with my girls wearing them!

I wore this Saturday night for a quick family outing-we had friends over later that evening, so it was perfect to just kind of hang out and lounge around in! These jeans have really broken in and are really comfortable!

I plan on wearing these jeans well into the summer. I think they look great with sneakers and sandal alike!

Spring/Summer Shoe Haul

I wouldn't necessarily classify myself as a "shoe" person. I am sure my husband would disagree, but more often than not you'll find me spending money on clothes and not really shoes.

Lately, though I haven't been able to get enough of shoes! I do tend to get new shoes here and there when a new season rolls around. This season though, I find myself really diving into giving my shoe wardrobe a complete overhaul.

1. Metallic Copper Birkenstock: I have a white and brown pair (Target versions) from two years ago that I still wear. At the time, I didn't want to invest in actual Birkenstocks because I wasn't sure if they were going to stick around or not. Fast forward two years and they are still here! (I know, they never really went anywhere). I had my eye on these copper ones for a few months, and totally hesitated on getting them. Finally I decided to just go for it and get them. This is what I do when I am considering a big purchase--I think and think and think about it until I start to annoy myself! They only had narrow available, but one of my readers said that their narrows actually work for regular width feet. I am supposed to get them in the mail later this week, so I will keep you posted!

2. White Converse: To me, these are a classic, closet staple. I have Converse also in black (high and low tops) and red. I have had white for a few years now, and in all honesty should have gotten a new pair last year! I figured since mine were starting to permanently look grey, I needed a new pair! For me, these run pretty true to size. I am my normal size across the board in Converse.

3. Steve Madden Lancer Sneaker: This is the thing about blogging (or just following blogs in general)-you are always wanting. I saw these on someone's instastories-I can't remember who-but I instantly fell in love. I have a fondness for sneakers-they have sort of become a staple of mine lately. They have totally taken over the heels in my closet! Anyway, I loved the color of these and how different they were from other slip ons that I have. They are really comfortable and I would say true to size. Not to mention, they go with so much!

4. Steve Madden Faux Pearl Sandals: These were another pair of shoes that I have had my eye on. Steve Madden can be tricky for me sometimes as far as sizing goes. I ordered my normal size but ended up returning and going up a half size. They are so much more comfortable and even look better. What I like about these is that they are neutral with a little twist. I think the pearls add a little interest to an otherwise basic pair of slide on sandals.

5. WENDY Bow Wedges: I am not sure how I feel about the whole 'flatform' trend, but something about these I just loved! I think it was the gingham, and the cute little bow. I am still waiting for these to come in the mail, and I am hoping that they are black/white gingham. I searched high and low to see if they were navy/white or black/white! LOL! I will keep you posted as to the fit and the color when they arrive-I can't wait!

6. Zigi Soho Sandal: These are so fun, aren't they?! I have a wedding and then I am headed to NYC in a little over a week, so I thought these would be a fun alternative to my basic black heels that I would normally wear. Here's to hoping they fit well and aren't too terribly uncomfortable!

Casual Army Green Duster

It was a little chilly yet again this weekend! During the week though, it was SO HOT. Like in the nineties and humid hot! I guess you would say the cooler air was a little welcomed!

But with that said, I hated the thought of having to layer yet again. Despite the heat, I will say that I am so ready for the warm temps to stay.

This lightweight duster was the perfect layering piece! I also can't wait to use it as a beach coverup later this summer! Plus, I really can't say no to anything army green! It is a go-to color of mine!

Romping in Rompers

I love a good romper, especially when it feels like I am wearing pajamas! I wore this over the weekend when I was out and about with the family. We had promised the girls some new spring/summer clothes so we ventured out for a bit after church!

While I realize a romper cut like this isn't ideal for all shapes, I couldn't help but fall in love with the comfort and the stripes! I did purchase this in floral as well, and I must say it looks really great with heels. I do realize this one would look better with some heels, or even wedges, but I couldn't muster up sporting heels while running errands with my fam!

Sleeveless Sweater Style

When I purchased this sweater I really didn't have any idea as to how I was going to style it. I didn't anticipate layering it, but sure enough it had been a little too chilly to wear it without a tee shirt underneath.

While you could easily toss a jacket or a blazer over it, I feel like it would defeat the purpose of wearing it- why would you want to cover up the adorable tie detail?!

Once I thought to toss on a tee underneath, I knew I wanted to dress it down. I feel like the white tee made it a little more casual. This could easily be dressed up, though, if you have to for work! I think this sweater would look adorable with a pair of chino's and heels!

For me, though-wearing it with my Converse is perfect!

Mother's Day in Mustard

Hope you all had a great weekend, and to those that celebrated, a great Mother's Day! I told my husband I didn't want anything this year and we didn't have to do anything fancy!

While it is nice to be fussed over and spoiled, sometimes it feels good to just celebrate the everyday. We have a normal Sunday routine of church, Dunkin' Donuts, blog pictures, and grocery shopping. Something about our Sunday ritual I love and didn't want to give that up for the day!

We do keep things pretty casual around here, but I did want to get a little more dressed up than I normally do. As I was shopping for my store, I stumbled on this dress-the mustard color, the cut, the length. Everything about it was perfect. Sidenote-I have it coming in white later this week, so be on the lookout for it!

Robyn Rhodes Spring/Summer 2017 Collection

For those of you that have followed me for a while know that I have headed out to LA a few times over the last year or two to style the photo shoot for my talented friend Robyn Rhodes. (you can see previous shoots I did with her here and here)

If you aren't familiar with her, she is an amazingly talented jewelry designer based in LA. All of her jewelry is made right in LA, from designing to the assembling to shipping. And it is all handmade!

The photo shoot for her Spring/Summer 2017 shoot was in March, so I flew out there to be the stylist for the shoot. The planning though, started months earlier! For this particular collection, Robyn went back to her roots, so to speak and drew inspiration from some of her original collections. She brought back old silhouettes and vintage castings out of the archives.

From there, Robyn and her assistant/photographer Joy created a vision and concept for the photo shoot. From there, I hit the ground running, working closely with Robyn and Joy to gather pieces that would reflect their vision but not take away from the true stars of the photo shoot-Robyn's jewelry. Between the three of us, we were able to find some great pieces that were the perfect compliment!

Here are some behind the scenes photos from the shoot. From Robyn's vision, to Joy's amazing photography skills, Addie's amazing hair styling, and Val's talented makeup the shoot just came together perfectly. Plus, our model Dana was to die for!

While I adore every piece in the collection, I do have a few favorites! Here are some of my top picks!

Amazing pieces, aren't they?! And these aren't even all of them! I had a hard time choosing my favorite ones!

I can't even begin to put into words how awesome it is to be able to do what I love! From start to finish it was so awesome, and so much fun!
