Faux Leather Leggings for the Curvy Gal

I hear quite frequently from gals that they don't wear certain things because they know it won't look good on them. But here is the kicker- they've never actually tried  them-whether it be a romper, a wrap dress, or faux leather leggings

I always tell customers in my store and blog readers to not limit themselves because of their size! You never know how something will look unless you try it on! Take my faux leather leggings (non plus size version) for instance-there are so many ways you can style them so they are flattering for your body type!

One of my favorite ways to wear them is with longer sweaters like the one I am wearing, as well as long tee shirts and cardigans-such a comfy, every day look!

Friday Series: Weekly #OOTD Roundup

It's Friday! Which means it's time for my weekly outfit roundup, where I share the outfits I wear during the week that don't make it to the blog!

The feedback continues to be pretty great for this weekly series, so I plan on continuing! Hope you enjoy!

Recent Favorite Purchases

I feel like as a blogger I am constantly adding new things to my wardrobe or beauty arsenal. I may mention them on instastories, or on the blog, of course. But sometime there are things that I absolutely adore and feel like they should get an extra mention. They are things I wear or use over and over again that maybe you don't see on social media as often as they get used/worn. (does that even make sense?!).

I figured I would round up some of my favorite purchases as of late and share them with you! From deodorant, to bobby pins, to the perfect pieces for my closet, these are things you should consider adding to your closet/vanity!

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings: These are quite the investment, if I am being honest. I also didn't pay full price for them. But, I have heard such great things about the quality of them, and have been thinking about them for months. I also knew I would get a lot of wear out of them-I have a pair of faux leather leggings from Old Navy that I have literally had for 3 years and have just about worn them through. The ones I purchased are plus size (wait for a sale before you buy them!) but they also have non plus size available as well! I am telling you, they are worth it.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette: This is another thing that I had been wanting to get. I am so bummed it took me so long to get it, because it is amazing! The colors are so pigmented and apply so well! I definitely recommend!

H&M Long T-Shirt: I love these shirts. I have it in black, white, gray and black and white striped. What I really love about this top is how long it is. It makes it great for layering, and also for wearing with leggings. I have been known to lounge around the house in this top as well! So worth it and so inexpensive!

Scunci Curved Bobby Pins: These might not seem like a lot, but these are so cool! Because they are curved I feel like they fit so much better! Definitely recommend!

Dove Invisibly Dry Spray: Ok, I sweat a lot. Like I could be so cold and still sweat. So gross, I know! Because of that, I always have a hard time finding deodorant that works. Ladies, this works! I love that it's a spray, that it's invisible and that it actually works!

Loft Floral Puffer Vest: I love puffer vests, but sometimes that are too puffy. When they are too puffy it makes me feel bigger, and I don't like it! I love this vest not only because of the adorable print, but that it is lightweight. Despite it being lightweight, it keeps me warm though! I love the colors are still somewhat neutral, too-I feel like I can wear it with more!

Fall Sneakers for Every Budget

I love a good pair of sneakers-so much, that I feel like I wear them more than any other style of shoes that I own! I should probably just change the name of my blog to "Mommy in Sneakers." And I am talking athleisure here, not actual sneakers that one would work out in!

I've rounded up a bunch of my favorite picks for this season, and I have included some that I already own and love! My picks are in a pretty wide price range, depending on what you are willing to spend! I don't mind splurging on a pair of shoes every once in a while (and if it's a planned spend-I can't just drop a ton like that).

While a lot of these would definitely be perfect for this time of year, I do think some of them could take you year round if styled the right way. They could also easily take a dressier outfit and take it down a notch or two to be a little bit more casual!

Friday Series: Weekly #OOTD Roundup

I was so surprised at all of the positive feedback from starting my new weekly series of my daily #OOTD's!

In all honesty, I need a blog post idea because I didn't have an outfit photos, and the idea came to me-haha! Turns out it was just what you wall were looking for! Also, knowing that I have this post now on Friday's holds me accountable during the week to actually put something together that is is somewhat presentable and not just tossed together for the sake of getting dressed and out the door!

Practical Pumpkin Patch Attire

I don't get it-I've seen soooo many gals posting pictures of themselves pumpkin and apple picking in dresses and skirts, OTK boots. Like how is that even practical?! LOL!  I mean, to each his own, and I would imagine they are just there to use the scenery as a backdrop for their photos, but it just makes me chuckle a little. Probably because that's just not my life!

We were afraid we were going to be delayed this year in picking out our pumpkins because our usual place really cut back on what they offer at their farm. No more hay ride, ice cream, cider out of apple shaped squeezie cups, no hay bales to climb on. Kind of depressing! So we gave a new place a try this year and had fun. We like to do this kind of thing on a week night because its waaaay less crowded but the downside is we do end up missing out on some of the fun stuff like hayrides!

I have had this sweater for a few weeks but was waiting for the right temps to wear it-the weather finally obliged and I was able to wear it and actually layer it with my favorite utility jacket!

How to Get More Wear Out of Those Summer Dresses

I wore this dress a few weeks ago and styled it more for summer (despite the longer sleeves and fall colors of the dress). At the time, sandals and a floppy hat were my go to when wearing it.

Because of the style and colors, I thought this would be a great transition dress that would take me into the fall months (even though there was a high of 80 degrees today-ugh). One of my favorite outfit combos during fall is booties paired with a dress. These booties were perfect to pair with the dress in place of my sandals. I also love the idea of layering with either a denim jacket or a moto like the one I am wearing!

If you are ever unsure as to whether or not you can wear a dress when the leaves start to fall just turn to your ankle booties and denim/moto jackets. Those are constantly my go-to's when trying to get more wear out of my dresses are the weather starts to turn! Boyfriend Cardigans are also a great option I love-I feel like they can not only keep you warm but can also dress down your look!

Friday Series: Weekly #OOTD Roundup

I do try to post pretty regularly (three times a week is "regularly" for me). Those posts typically consist of outfits I truly wear (meaning I don't just put an outfit on, snap some pics of it and post it to the blog for the sake of the blog, if that makes sense?). Like I literally wear it to work and then have Ryan snap a few pics so I can post to the blog.

With that said though, those outfits that make it to the blog are mostly ones I wear on the weekend, because well, the weekends are a little easier to squeeze in photo shoots. Because of that there are so many outfits I wear that don't make it to the blog. I try to share them as much as I can on instagram but even then they sometimes don't make the cut!

SO. I decided to start a new series on Fridays where I share my weekly outfits-what I wear day to day. The basic, not so basic, new items I purchased, or even my go-to outfits! I still have yet to come up with a name for this weekly series, so for now we will just call it my Weekly #OOTD Roundup.

Sweater Dress Weather

Ok maybe it isn't sweater weather quite yet here in PA. Who knew that being in almost mid October it would still be uncomfortably hot outside and actually not sweater (dress) weather?! I mean, we watched a movie outside with friends this weekend-in October!

Despite the heat, I wanted to take this dress for a spin. It is so comfortable and forgiving. I know a lot of gals are hesitant to wear horizontal stripes, but I say go for it. Tossing on something like a denim jacket can break up the stripes which may make something like a striped dress a little more doable for some!

If you wanted to make this dress a little more dressed up you could easily toss on a pair of nude block heels- I think because of all of the stripes keeping it neutral would be best!

Mom Jeans for Curvy Girls

When I think of Mom jeans, my mind always goes to this SNL video-I still laugh every time I watch it! I mean, how can you not?!? Who would have ever thought that "Mom" jeans would be so popular?! I must say I love the trend and find myself wearing these jeans over and over again.

While I think they look great with heels, I prefer to wear sneakers with them, keeping them dressed down (you can see how I dressed them down recently here). Lots of gals think something like Mom jeans won't be flattering on them. Like everything else, I say give it a try!

I wore this outfit when we were out and about Saturday night. We ended up at our friend's house to grill and watch an outdoor movie (which by the way-who would have thought we'd be able to do that in October?). Before we headed there I swapped the heels for my go to slip on sneakers and ditched the moto jacket for a more casual boyfriend cardi.
