Bombers are the Bomb

I know, I know. How lame is that title? It's something I am never good at and I totally admit that! Ha! I just can't with the witty titles!

Anyway, I snagged this jacket at Target a few weeks ago on clearance. I wasn't really looking for anything specific (I mean are we ever really at Target?!). I was just kind of browsing to browse. Sometimes their clearance racks overwhelm me because there is so much. This jacket caught my eye though, and the fact that it was on clearance made it a must get!

Obviously I love wearing it now, but it is lightweight enough that I will be able to rock it when the temps get a tad bit warmer-I can see myself wearing it with another plain white tee, gladiator sandals and denim cut offs!

Cozy in Floral

This sweatshirt is one of those purchases I am so glad I made! Fitted, but not too fitted. Loose but not too loose. Kind of just right...and the print! Love the print!

Unfortunately, it's not available online but I do know it is still in store (at least my store)-hopefully it's still available in your location!

What I love about this sweatshirt (and really all sweatshirts lately) is how it's more than just a comfy sweatshirt-it actually looks cute! For now, I tossed it on with one of my favorite anoraks (it's been oddly warm recently). When it gets a little warmer, I think this would look adorable with a pair of cut off shorts!

Classroom Valentines with Minted

When you become a parent there are so many things to look forward to. Of course the big milestones are the ones that are on the forefront of everyone's minds when they become a parent.

But then there are those little things that start to creep up and make you think "this is what I became a parent for!" I could list them, but honestly there are so many. From their giggles, to bedtime rituals, to how they smell, to how perfectly their little hands fit in yours. On top of all of that, holidays are so much more fun! It's like you have a fresh new set of eyes to see things, and it makes it that much more fun!

Before children, my husband and I would celebrate Valentine's Day a little. We certainly didn't go all out, but we had fun! Then out girls came along, and it's like Valentine's Day takes on a whole new meaning (along with every other holiday). My girls love Valentine's Day (or Bal-im-times Day as Charlotte likes to call it)! From the little treats they get, to picking out and delivering their Valentine's they enjoy every minute of it-it makes it so much fun as a Mommy!

Each year when the girls start to see Valentine's creep into stores, they immediately start planning who they are going to give Valentine's cards to, what kind they are going to get, when they are going to fill them out, and the list goes on and on.

Minted has such a cute selection of classroom Valentine's-perfect for your kiddos and such a variety. Like their cards, you can personalize their classroom Valentine's as much or as little as you want from changing the color to even what the card says! (True story-Ella wanted to change what hers said-I had to explain until I was blue in the face that if she did, it would defeat the purpose of having a donut card. Needless to say....I won that battle! HA!)

Another thing the girls (and I) loved about the classroom Valentine's is the little added touches! The girls thought it was so fun to have the little stickers with their names on them! You can even add options on the back of the card like tic tac toe, a picture, a little note, or another printed picture! I should add that these aren't meant to be mailed-they are intended to be handed out...that is the fun of Valentine's, am I right?

What Chartlotte loved about her popcorn Valentine's was the fact that she can add a little lollipop with hers, or attach it to a little goody bag (she has yet to decide...its a hard decision to make when you are four)! (I also love this one and this one)

Don't these make you miss the fun of exchanging Valentine's when you were little? While I love what Ella and Charlotte chose, there are so many adorable ones that are just as cute!

A Little Sunshine

It's funny that I wore such a bright sweater this weekend, as we have had several dreary, foggy days in a row. I don't know when the last time was I saw the sun. Maybe Thursday?

I had stopped in Loft last week to kill some time in between work and a style consult and fell in love as soon as I saw this sweater! Lucky for me, they were having a 50% off sale! Meant to be, am I right?! As if it couldn't get any better, I had a gift card from Christmas burning a hold in my wallet!

I was a little torn as to how to style it, but with a little mixing and matching, I settled on my new favorite Old Navy jeans and trusty chambray!

To dress it down, I think it would look adorable with my army green utility or puffer jacket and go-to Converse!

Valentine's Day Gift Guide X Minted

Over the years, I guess you could even say the older I get, I have found that I love receiving gifts that are meaningful much more than something materialistic, like a new sweater, or a cute pair of shoes (side note- I will still gladly accept them, though...who do think I am?! HA!).

Things change when you get married and have children-certain things start to take on a different meaning, events aren't just another event-you want to treasure them!

Minted has such a sweet collection for all of your meaningful gifts. More specifically, they have such cute custom art ideas. One of my favorites is their custom map art to document where you got married, where your child was born, or even where you bought your first home-all you have to do is provide the address. They offer in foil press, letter press or standard printing-you can also choose from a pretty great selection of frames and colors for the letterpress

Another great, personalized piece that Minted offers is their Silhouette Art. It's hard to explain, but as a parent you get lost in the day to day, and one day look at your child and they don't look like a baby anymore- their little nose is not as 'baby-ish' as it used to be, their lips not as pouty. You miss those little details! I love the idea of the Silhouette-it can capture those long, untouched lashes, those adorable pouty lips, and that slept in, fly-away hair. You can also get a silhouette of your pet! How perfect is that?!? After losing our sweet dog Rocco in October, this is something I know we would treasure.

The Minimalist Quote Keepsake is another favorite of mine-I feel like every couple I know (or at least a lot of them) have little sayings or quotes that sort of define their relationship, or is an inside joke. Like all of their other art pieces, this is completely customizable-there is a variety of framing options, you can upload your own photo, and choose from various sizes! How sweet would this be for a gift??

Similar to the Minimalist Quote Keepsake is Your Vows print. This is something I would have loved to have as a wedding keepsake, or even as a Valentine's gift. While we didn't write our own vows, it would be sweet to commemorate some of the bible readings that were shared during our ceremony. Hint Hint-guys....

The Heart Snapshot Photo Art has to be one of my favorites, too. Nothing like seeing snapshots of those you love, in an adorable heart collage, am I right? You can personalize with 30 photos, choose from a variety of classic frames or specialty frames. This would be a sweet gift for a loved one, whether it be a spouse, significant other, or even a family member!

My last pick is probably one of my favorites. It is an adorable gift Minted is calling a petite pair. This pairing is perfect for the guy (or heck even gal!) in your life!

How perfect is this Better Than Whiskey print paired with Your Recipe?! You can turn your most cherished, hand written recipes into art-what a meaningful gift idea! I know I have so many recipes from my grandmother that would be so wonderful turned into a framed memory! I think it would be such a cool idea to pair the Whiskey print with a print of a yummy drink recipe to hang over your bar area or bar cart, or even in a Man Cave!

If you love to send Valentine's cards to your friends and family, they have an awesome selection to choose from! They are currently offering 15% off orders of $150 or more or 10% off (no minimum) with the code HEART17 now through 1/23!

Here are a few of my favorite picks:

What are your favorite picks?!? There are so many options I have trouble choosing just one! Stay tuned next week, especially if you're a Mommy! I will be sharing Ella and Charlotte's classroom Valentine's and let's just say.... you "donut" want to miss them!! (hehe)

Bon Voyage

If you saw my post Monday, you know I scored some great new pieces at Old Navy! They really have a great selection right now. While most retailers are transitioning to full on spring, Old Navy is as well, but with pieces that I feel are transitional.

A lot of retailers that start spring now make it hard to shop-I'd love to buy this adorable dress now, but it's not practical in freezing temps or even snow! Old Navy though is crawling with great transitional spring pieces (like this great cardigan I wore in Monday's blog post).

I have been gravitating towards sweatshirts lately- I feel like they aren't as casual and dressed down as they used to be. A lot of brands are taking sweatshirts up a notch or two and giving them a fun print or a delicate embellishment-it just adds some more interest to an otherwise basic piece!
