The Perfect Almost Spring Out

I know this isn't the first time you have all seen this top-I have worn it a couple of times over the last week or so-it is just perfect for everyday wear that I can't get enough of it!

This is the kind of top that would be great to wear to work, or even just out with the girls or even a date night. I wore this last weekend when we were in Virginia-it was an all day outfit. Literally, I had it on for about 12 hours and it was super comfortable.

I would say that it is true to size as well-I'm wearing the large and it fits perfectly! I love the peplum detail of it as well. Peplum's can be tricky on me because if my curves, but this one drapes on my nicely so it's not super overwhelming!

This jacket has also seen a lot of wear over the last several weeks-it has a good amount of stretch to it which makes it super comfortable. Sometimes jackets can feel really restricting to me, but this one doesn't! It comes in several colors too! I feel like it's a great transition jacket!

Key Items for the Season with Bon-Ton

This time of year is always tough when it comes to shopping for me. I don't want to invest in any more sweaters or cold weather items because spring is (hopefully) on the horizon, but I'm not into buying a ton of spring items just yet. If I can't wear it right away, I don't want it!

So if I am not adding sweaters or spring/summer items to my wardrobe what am I adding? Transition pieces! Items that can be layered and worn now and when the temperatures start to rise.

Cardigans have always been a go-to of mine. I really love to keep them casual, but I do love tossing them on over a dress from time to time to dress them up. Regardless of whether or not they are dressed up or down, it is such a great, layering go-to piece in my wardrobe!

A black cardigan is such a great closet staple, and there are so many variations! While a basic boyfriend cardigan is a great for everyday, I love wearing one with a little bit of a twist, like the peplum hem on this cardigan! It is really lightweight so it's great for layering and transitioning into the warmer months.

There is something so classic about pairing black and white together. When all else fails and you aren't sure what to wear, toss on a white tee, a pair of skinny jeans and an adorable cardigan

The style of this navy cardigan is also a favorite of mine. I am always draw to an open cardigan that drapes. I feel like it is super flattering for me. Like black, navy is such a classic color. I consider it a neutral and pair it with so many colors-white, gray, mustard, green and even red!

These particular skinny jeans are really comfortable-they have a ton of stretch to them, which is important for me. I have got to have some stretch in the jeans I wear!

I am a sucker for a good graphic tee. I find myself wearing them day to day. With denim jackets, cardigans, or by themselves. This camo tee is a great alternative to your everyday solid tees. I love the length of it-I prefer longer tees-and it is super soft. Just like a lightweight cardigan, it is perfect to wear now with a cozy sweater and a pair of boyfriend jeans, or with a pair of distressed denim shorts when it gets warmer!

A good pair of jeans is another key item I like to have to transition from one season to the next. I personally prefer jeans over shorts, so I tend to wear jeans year round. I love the cuff of these jeans-they look cute with sneakers, but will look equally as cute with sandals!

What are some of your key pieces you keep in your wardrobe to help transition you from one season to another? Cardigans, graphic tees and jeans are my go-to's but I would love to hear yours!

Thank you to Bon-Ton for sponsoring this post. Although compensated, all opinions are my own.

Winter to Spring Transition Dress

Tired of seeing this jacket yet? For your sake, hopefully not! I don't plan on hanging it up any time soon. It is such a versatile jacket and I have worn it so much already in the short time I've had it!

I wore it last week with jeans and sneakers, this past weekend with an adorable floral top and mules, and then with this floral dress! I love the fact that I can dress it up and down and that it is such a versatile piece-something I look for when shopping! I love being able to invest in something that can be worn multiple ways!

To me, this dress is a great transition piece. I got lucky wearing this yesterday and it wasn't terribly cold outside. I think it looks great as is-with a lightweight jacket (possibly even a moto jacket) and booties. When it gets a little bit warmer I think it would look super cute with a pair of wedges or sandals. While it is long sleeved, it is lightweight enough that you could get away with wearing it when the temps rise a bit! In fact, I think it would be the perfect Easter dress!

Mommy in Heels: Weekly #OOTD Roundup

TGIF! I can't decide if this week went fast, or if it was a slow week. I will say it was kind of nice because we had no plans at all in the evenings this week. It was nice to know I could come home from work and not have to worry about rushing anywhere!

I am also excited because I am working a half day today (parent teacher conferences for Ella), and I have off tomorrow, Saturday! We are headed to Virginia to see my cousin/best friend Betsy perform in Mamma Mia! I know I've chatted about her numerous times before on instagram-I am so excited to see her!

Anyway, here are the outfits I wore this week-my daily, not making it to the blog outfits!

The Perfect Everyday Blouse with Loft

Have any of you had a chance to check out the new Loft Plus line yet? They have some really great pieces. Hopefully you saw my instastories last week where I shared a pretty indepth description of some of their pieces. Overall, I am in love! (you can still check out my try on sesh in my instastory highlights!).

What I love about the collection is that there are pieces unique to the line, but that there are pieces similar to their straight sizes as well!

I tend to gravitate towards anything that has a mustard hue to it, this shirt being no exception. Not only do I love the color, but the pleated bell sleeve makes this blouse just a tad extra! I also have this in the floral print in a large, but I opted for the yellow in the XL-it was slightly more roomy in the chest and shoulders, making it so much more comfortable for me.

I wore this outfit on Sunday for Ella's piano recital (she did amazing, BTW-so proud). I thought about wearing it with jeans and some flats, but I thought pairing it with my go-to black pants dressed it up a bit-perfect for her recital!

Wear to Work Style with Bon-Ton

A request I get quite often from my readers is work wear. For me, it's something that tends to be so different than most working gals, mainly because I can essentially wear what I want at my store!

While I do like to keep it casual, it does feel good to get dressed up every once in a while for work and wear a cute dress or even a skirt! One thing I like to try and focus on though are items that are versatile-can I wear them outside of work, too? Can I mix and match with other items in my closet I already own? If I can answer yes to those questions, then getting the item is a no brainer for me!

I have loved rediscovering Bon-Ton and their selection of stylish, wear-to-work pieces, but also other items (and brands!) that can easily be transitioned from work to play! With their selection being pretty broad, it was easy to find items that I could incorporate into my current wardrobe.

This dress is adorable and a great work option-to me it can be such a versatile piece. Wear a pair of tights and boots when it's a little chillier, or when the temps warm up, toss on a cute pair of strappy heels and wear without the tights! I am more of a flats/sneakers gal these days, so I would love to wear this with my white sneakers and a denim jacket, just to dress it down and get more wear out of it!

When I think of a true, wear to work outfit, this skirt/jacket combo is totally it. I like how all of the pieces are true separates, but together they make such a chic outfit! When I talk about mix and match pieces, these are it! This jacket, for example, I can see wearing with a cute pair of skinny jeans, a graphic tee and sneakers or flats for a more dressed down look. To brighten up the skirt, you could pair it with a color like red or pink, even. This cami with the criss cross detail is also something that can easily be layered with other items in your closet!

There really is nothing more classic for your closet than a great pair of black pants. For me, gone are the days of wearing those super flowy and long dress pants (think the kind you would see paired with a suit jacket). To me, its all about the fitted, cropped dress pants. While it's good to have your basic, go-to pair, I think it's also fun to have a pair with a little twist, like these lace hem ankle pants. Since the pants are more fitted, I opted to pair it with a looser fitting, flowy top, like this floral print top!

What are some of your go-to pieces for work? Not sure, and in the process of building your work wardrobe? Remember to look for separate pieces that you can mix and match-you will get so much more wear out of your wardrobe.

Thank you to Bon-Ton for sponsoring this post. Although compensated, all opinions are my own.

Weekly #OOTD Roundup

It's been a few weeks since I have done my weekly outfit of the day roundups, hasn't it? Just to refresh your memory-there are lots of outfits that never make it to the blog. Maybe they are repeats, or I just don't have time to document it.

With that said, a few months ago I decided to start this little weekly series to show you my daily, not-making-it-to-the-blog!

Let's jump right in!

Mommy in Heels: Family Game Night Fun

If there is one thing my family has on lockdown it's our boardgame selection. And by board game, I mean all kinds of games, not just one's that come with an actual board (a la Candyland or Chutes and Ladders).

While we certainly aren't the kind of parents that forbid TV (in fact, our kids probably watch it too much sometimes), there are nights where we would much rather laugh until our bellies hurt playing games rather than cuddled up on the couch watching TV!

Besides fashion and beauty questions on instagram/stories, it always seems like I get an overwhelming response anytime I post videos of us playing our go-to games-what is that game? Where did you get it? I've never seen that game before!

Also, I wanted to add a little more of a family/lifestyle aspect the blog (don't worry, fashion/beauty isn't going anywhere)-I figured what better way to dive in than to share what games we love as a family?!

Egged On: Anything that the girls can get wet playing, they love! This was a Christmas gift for Charlotte (those that are familiar with her probably aren't surprised) and we have played it so many times in the short time we have had it! The object of the game is to fill a certain amount of the rubber eggs with water. The spinner will tell you how many eggs you have to "crack" over your head or a team mates. Obviously the object is to not get "egged on!"

Who Tooted: I will say this is probably the one game that get's the most attention from instastories! As you may have guessed, this game focuses soley on tooting noises and of course giggling. The object of the game is to guess who tooted. There alllll kinds of different tooting noises, and even as an adult, it is hysterical. If you have a child like Charlotte, who loves anything and everything pooping and tooting, this game is the best!

Uno Attack: Another perfect Christmas gift for the girls! Ryan and I have always loved playing Uno-we play with his parents any chance we get, and we always end up with tears in our eyes from laughing so hard, so we thought Uno Attack would be fun to play with our girls. If you are wondering about ages, Charlotte is 5 and plays this game pretty well. We have to remind her of the rules, and every once in a while I have to take a peek at her cards to help her, but overall she does well! And just like regular, traditional Uno, this leaves us laughing!

Poopyhead: Yes, you read that right. Another game based around poop. And yes, this game was a gift for Charlotte. This game is a little tricky, but that is overshadowed by the fact that you literally wear poop on your head. The overall object is similar to that of the card game war. You have to be quick and place a card down in the order of going to the bathroom-there's toilet paper, a toilet, flushing, etc.

Greedy Granny: Another game full of laughs...this granny literally loses her teeth at any given point in the game. I had never heard of this game before Charlotte got it for Christmas (can you tell Charlotte loves playing games?!)!

WetHead: Like I said, any game that can get the girls wet they love. And this game gets you drenched! You basically spin the spinner and have to pull pegs out of the hat, hoping you don't get wet! Good for lots of laughs!

Pop the Pig: We've had this game for quite some time, but it always seems to be a go-to for us. We've even packed it on several trips-it's an easy toss-and-go game that everyone loves!

Googly Eyes: We don't have this game, but it is on our list to get. For this game, you wear vision altering glasses (different levels of glasses) and you are to draw a picture. It looks like it's tons of fun-the girls can't wait to get it!

So what are some of your favorite games you play with your family? Do share! I would love to add some more games to our game closet!
