Mommy in Heels: Bathing Suit Roundup for Curvy Gals

One of the things I find really frustrating, next to shopping for jeans is shopping for bathing suits! It's always tough to find ones that keep me all together without sacrificing style! I took several bathing suits with me to Costa Rica and wanted to share them with you as well as reviews on them!

Hopefully this helps making bathing suit shopping a little easier for you all! I rounded up a bunch of other suits at the bottom of the post that I think are super adorable as well!

Bathing Suit /// Coverup /// Sunglasses /// Hat (super old)

I absolutely loved this swimsuit and coverup and couldn't wait to wear it! The bathing suit was super comfortable and I would definitely say true to size. I will say I was worried about it being mostly white-I wasn't sure about it being possibly see through but it wasn't! I made my husband do a see through check for me just to make sure!

What's also great is this bathing suit comes in petite, tall, fuller bustcurvy and even maternity. I actually just got the regular in a size 14-my typical bathing suit size, and it fit perfectly! The price is totally affordable too!

This coverup was the MVP of the week. It was really lightweight and looked really great on. It was perfect to toss on and wear to lunch or even breakfast!

I cannot recommend this swimsuit enough! I got so many compliments when I was wearing it, and it was so comfortable. I will say, I accidentally ordered a 12-thought I had ordered a 14! The 12 fit me but I do think I would have been a tad more comfortable in the 14 (which is what I usually wear in my bathing suits). Because of that, I will say it is true to size

The support was super great, and in the stomach area I felt really sucked in and in place! I can't recommend this suit enough!

As for the coverup, I personally love ones that are a little longer-I found this one a liked how you could tie it or leave it open-plus it wasn't terribly expensive

I wasn't sure about this suit when I purchased it. I honestly thought it might have been too young for me. When I got it and tried it on I still wasn't 100% sold on it, but I for the price, I figured I would give it a try. I am so glad I did!

While there is absolutely no support whatsoever, it was really lightweight and comfortable. Full disclosure though, I didn't get the bathing suit wet so I am not sure how it holds up when it's wet. I will say that it is lined though!

I had a version of this coverup last summer and it got too gross from wearing it on the beach, getting my fake tan on it, etc. I found this pretty comparable one, and it comes in black!

So this bathing suit is from last summer. I absolutely loved it then and I still love it now! I wore it in Costa Rica last week and multiple times last year and managed to not get one picture in it-go figure! Because of that, you get the pleasure of a mirror selfie!

This bathing suit is true to size and comfortable. I will say it is super push up. I feel like 'my girls' are really out there when I wear it, if that makes sense?! It keeps me all in place though, which is one of the things I love about it!

I definitely recommend it-it's currently available in sizes 6-24!

Ohhhh this bathing suit! I thought I had ordered it with enough time for it to get to me, but unfortunately I did not! It arrived the day after I had left!

But, I cannot say enough good things about it. It was a little tough to get on, but once it was on it was amazing. The higher waist and the cutout in the front is so flattering. I don't think I will have to worry about the white top being see through. It is lined and padded so there is a lot of reinforcement!

I absolutely cannot wait to wear this again this summer! If it was available in other colors or prints, I would buy them!

  1. Thanks for this post! I have been putting off shopping for a bathing suit for a few years, but I told myself I would get one this year. I love all of these.
