I am pretty sure by now you know that I love to shop. Lately, I have been trying to bring in the reigns on my shopping. Yes, to save money, but also because I’ve started to realize over the last few months just how much stuff and junk I have in my closet that is collecting dust. My closet is in major need of a clean out for sure. (My husband will be the first to tell you that one….it is a disaster!)
I really want to start focusing on classic, basic pieces that will be able to take me from season to season, year to year. I will be the first to admit I am a sucker (sometimes) for certain trends or fads-those are the purchases that I don’t spend a ton of money on at all, knowing it is just a “this season” trend. Those are more of my fun purchases rather than investment purchases-the items that I want to keep in my closet for years to come.
Here are a few of my recent spring purchases-ones that I just couldn’t resist! I noticed that I am drawn to pastels (I know…pastels for spring-crazy!) and cognac. Cognac anything is great year round in my book. I feel like it just fits in the fall, and in the summer the shade has more of a boho vibe, which I love!
I chatted about my makeup routine the other week, and how I recently added Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. Still love it, still glad I purchased it. More often than not, in the warmer months I like to wear as little makeup as possible, so this will get used a ton in place of my foundation!
I also like to wear more nude shades on my lips. I have used Bare Minerals lipstick in the past and loved this shade (without trying it on first…yikes!). Express Yourself the perfect shade of nude/coral and I love it!
With losing weight, I don’t want to spend a ton on jeans, not that I ever really spend a lot on them! Once I get to my goal weight I would like to treat myself to a really nice pair of jeans, but for now, I am perfectly happy with my Target jeggings! Adding a white pair for spring is a no brainer!
I’ve had the same brown wedges for years. I am talking since college. It was time for a new pair. I got these from Old Navy, but in brown! Can’t wait to wear them!
I’ve already mentioned how much I love pastels for spring! This duster coat will be the perfect lightweight layering piece over jeans and a graphic tee or over a dress. Plus, it’s under $30!
I am headed to LA at the end of the month and have been on the hunt for a white blazer to take with me. This one made the cut, and hopefully will get a lot of wear!
If you follow me on instagram, you saw that I purchased this denim jacket the other day. It is available online, but it is 50% off in store! It has the perfect amount of stretch to it and is super comfy! I never, in a million years thought that I would love acid wash again!
Lastly, who doesn’t need another graphic tee, right?
What are you buying for spring?
