Back to College

Not for real…although who wouldn’t want to go back and do college all over again. Sure it was stressful, but I would take that stress any day over today’s life stresses. Definitely the best four years of my life!

Any chance we get, we try and revisit Elizabethtown College. We are only about 40 minutes away, but getting there proves to be difficult a lot of the time! But a few weekends ago we were lucky enough to be able to! My brother in law and his family were camping in the area, so we met up with them and my in laws for dinner at our favorite restaurant there. We knew we had to make a pit stop after dinner for a stroll through campus.

It was so strange. A good strange, but strange nonetheless. Finals must have just finished, so the campus was empty. Since we graduated over ten years ago, we have only ever visited for homecoming and soccer games, so there has always been a lot of hustle and bustle. This time though, with the campus empty and silent, it gave us a chance to really soak it in.

We had a great time letting our girls run around and explore, revisiting memories-there was a point where I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry from all of the memories!

At one point though, I was walking across campus by myself to get the car and the tears just started. Initially I felt like such a loser, but then I texted all of my college besties and they assured me they would have done the same! I mean- when you call a place home for four years, and meet your friends for life, you can’t help but get emotional, right?

We did stop by the lightpole where we met. We were excited to show the girls. They were underwhelmed to say the least! Haha!

The picture on the left is at our lightpole right before we graduated!

Anyway, while we were there we were able to snap some pictures of my outfit for the night. This LOFT romper did not disappoint. It was super comfortable and roomy enough for the massive meal I ate that evening. After wearing it though for a little, I think I probably would have been safe sizing down one more size. It would look great without a denim jacket and maybe some wedges, but I opted for a more casual look with the flat sandals.
