Day to Night Jumpsuit

I love a good versatile piece that I can take from one part of my life to the next, whether its working to play dates to date nights. That is obviously no secret! One thing I have found the easiest to transition is jumpsuits. They are just so easy to take from casual to dressy.

This jumpsuit from Old Navy was a great find. I found it in store (can’t find it online but linked similar ones). I was a little hesitant about it being strapless, as I am not much of a strapless lover, but I had every intention of wearing it with a jacket- mainly so I could wear a regular bra and not have to fuss with a bandeau or strapless bra!

When wearing a jumpsuit during the day, my go to accessory seems to be a denim jacket. Something like that is a must for any closet. Adding my light wash denim jacket was my intention when I bought this originally. I thought my silver metallic sandals complimented the gray tone of the jumpsuit the best, although I muse say I had a pair of coppery/bronze sandals that looked really good too!

My makeup was kept to a minimum, which it usually is during the day time. Light to nude eye shadows is perfect for a more casual, natural but put together overall look.

When you want to take something like this from day to night, its as simple as swapping the shoes and the jacket. You don’t necessarily need to change your accessories if you don’t want to! Simply carrying a clutch instead of a messenger bag, or wearing a blazer instead of a denim jacket is enough to dress it up.

I personally chose to swap the denim jacket for a blazer, sandals for heels, and add a bolder necklace and makeup look.

For my night makeup look, Maggie really focused on my eyes, and keeping everything else pretty natural (similar to this look she did for me).

Adding a heavy, smoky eye really transforms the whole look into an evening, date night look. Darker eye shadow and eyeliner make the eyes pop, but keeping the cheeks and lips more neutral keeps it from looking overdone.

Maggie used Stila Lip Glaze in Lemongrass for a subtle lip, and kept my cheeks pretty neutral with E.L.F. contouring blush and bronze due in St. Lucia. For my bold eyes, she used Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liquid eyeliner and MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre.
