A great thing about this little blog of mine is the opportunity to partner with great brands and companies. Even better than that, is partnering with companies that give back and are passionate.
If you haven’t heard of thredUP, let me fill you in a little! ThredUP is a great website where you can purchase name brand clothing (hello back to school shopping) at up to 90% off. You can also sell on their website as well!
Not only do they have a great selection, but they love to do good things. They are partnering with adoptaclassroom.org for an amazing campaign called Raise a Hand for Teachers to recognize and reward teachers for their hard work.
Did you know that on average, teachers spend $500 of their own money each year to equip their classrooms –10% of teachers spend more than $1,000 annually. AdoptAClassroom.org provides funding for K-12 teachers to purchase the classroom supplies and materials they need to help their students learn and succeed.
I remember my first teaching job was in a low income area-I spent a great deal of money on supplies for my students-notebooks, pencils, folders, etc. The fifty cent folders don’t seem like a lot, but they add up.
From now until August 23, you can nominate a teacher with a photo, video or story! Three teachers will each win $2500 for classroom supplies, and $500 to thredUP. Additionally, 50 more teachers will win $500 to shop on thredUP).
What a wonderful way to thank teachers! Being a former teacher, and coming from a family with many in the education field (my dad being one- he was a teacher for over 30 years), something like this is so important to me!
This is the least we can do to thank our favorite teacher(s) for all of their time, effort and money they put into giving our children a great education.
Join me in nominating your teacher at thredup.com/teachers and #raiseahandforteachers.
Thank you to thredUP for sponsoring this post.
