When it comes to beauty, I feel like I am equal parts comfortable with what I have and routine driven, and adventurous when it comes to trying new things.
Now when I say “try new things” I mean a new hairspray, dry shampoo or blush. I don’t think I have a knack to see something and think of all the things I could do with it!
Every once in a while though, there are some things that I may give a “why not?!” thought too. And that is after doing some research and maybe chatting with someone at Ulta!
I’ve rounded up some of my current beauty favorites. A couple of them are sort of my tried and true, can’t live without, but there are a few new items that I have tried and love so much I want to share with you! Take a look and read why I love them so much!
I stumbled on this Maybelline MasterFix Setting Spray. I love it! Just a few sprays when your makeup is all done and you are good to go! I do recommend it. While I don’t feel like it makes an insane difference, (meaning I don’t come home from work looking like I just did my makeup) I do notice it helps my makeup stay put a lot longer
I have chatted before about Benefit’s High Beam and what an awesome highlighter it is. I love their Sun Beam, which is basically High Beam with a little tint. I only use it during the spring/summer to give me more of that summer glow.
Just recently I have started actually caring about my eyebrows. After I color my brows, I finish it with NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel. It’s the perfect finishing touch!
You can’t go wrong with Cover Girl’s blush. With it being so inexpensive, I always get multiple colors. I usually choose a pink (Classic Pink) and a peachy shade (pretty peach). They have been my go-to lately!
Bare Minerals has been my foundation for a little over ten years now. I try others, but I always seem to come back! I am not much of a re-applier throughout the day. It’s even a struggle to reapply my lipstick! I love Bare Minerals Ready To Go Complexion Perfection Kit. It’s so compact which makes it easy to toss in my purse for touch ups throughout the day!
Like I said before, I have been really trying with my brows lately. I wanted to give Anastasia’s Brow Wiz a try, but I didn’t care for the price tag. I found NYX Eyebrow Enhancer to be pretty comparable and a lot more affordable. I love how easy it is to apply and the brush it comes with makes taking care of my brows easier. I couldn’t recommend it enough!
Neutrogena’s MoistureSmooth Color Sticks are a favorite of mine! There are so many colors, they glide on so smooth and evenly. Plus, you can’t beat the price! There are a ton more colors that will be coming out soon, so stay tuned!
Ok, Umberto’s Lifting Powder is hands down my new favorite. I don’t have particularly voluminous hair, and I am not good at teasing my hair, either so I was on the hunt for something like this. I stumbled on this on the very bottom shelf in the hair care aisle at Target and figured I would give it a go. If you follow me on Snapchat (@mommyinheels) then you already know how much I love it. Just a little of the powder where you want some lift (like at your roots) and you are set. I noticed a huge difference when I didn’t use it. You can totally tell in the picture below. The left is at the end of my work day when I used the Lifting Spray. The right is about the same time of day without it. Yep. You can definitely see the difference! I will say that a little goes a long way, and it kind of has a sticky feeling to it!
Another one of Umberto’s products I purchased at Target is their Texture Spray. Same with the Lifting Spray, I definitely noticed a difference when I didn’t use it. The picture above is with and without (like the lifting powder). The left is with using the spray and the right is without. I felt like it just made my hair feel thicker and gave it…texture!
Lastly, I love BareMinerals Bareskin Complete Coverage Concealer. When it comes to under my eyes, I need as much coverage as possible. I have been using this for a while and love it! It goes on smoothly and I feel as though it lasts long throughout the day!
Now, as much as I love Bare Minerals, and I said that I always end up going back to it, I do want to maybe give something else a try…what are your current favorites that have full coverage?!
