It feels so odd to be talking about back to school, but summer is almost over, and here we are! Fortunately, we are lucky in that we live in a school district that provides all school supplies, so we don’t have to worry about notebooks, folders, pencils and all of that good stuff. (I’d be lying though if I said I wasn’t a little bummed…I want to get her all the fun, colorful school supplies!)
With that said though, that leaves me a little extra time and money to get her ready in all other aspects of “Back to School.” Think clothes, fun backpacks, lunch boxes and cute little extras for her backpack!
One thing I always make sure I have stocked in her backpack is lip balm. I also send some to preschool with Charlotte to keep in her little bin. I don’t know what it is, but the second school starts for her (and for Charlotte) their lips are chapped all.the.time. What do they do differently during the school year that they don’t do over the summer?! Maybe the air in their schools? They lick their lips more (I do think they do this…their lips get chapped so they just lick and lick and it makes it worse)?! Your guess is as good as mine! I do know though, that lip balm gets a lot more attention once school hits.
If you follow me on instagram, you saw on my instastories the other day how much I love Carmex, particularly their Classic Lip Balm in a Jar. Like LOVE. It’s packaged
in an iconic white jar with a yellow cap-we all know and love this packaging! This formula has its signature tingle (I can’t get enough of the tingle!) and has been a Carmex staple for more than 80 years. The menthol and camphor help to soothe severely dry lips.
I personally have been using since high school maybe even jr. high. I get cold sores every so often and have for literally decades (yikes…makes me feel old), and Carmex is literally the only thing that gets rid of them! Needless to say, I was happy to share in my Carmex love with my girls!
Their selection has really grown over the years, which makes me love them even more. For as long as I can remember it has typically been the lip balm in a jar, but now there is so much more! For those that maybe aren’t a fan of the Carmex®Classic Lip Balm in a Jar, there are plenty of other options!
Ella can be funny sometimes about using her fingers to put on lip balm (I personally don’t mind but she does) and Charlotte? Well lets just say I don’t trust Charlotte-ha! The Carmex®Classic Lip Balm in a Tube is ideal for them because it gives a soothing relief that helps moisturize (which is needed for them from all that lip licking-ha!) and is not too thick
and not too waxy. It’s also formulated
with menthol and camphor for cooling relief, cocoa butter for a smooth feel, and a touch of mineral oil to help soften and hydrate lips-this in particular is great for the girls in the colder months when their lips get super chapped!
I am also a fan of the Carmex®Classic Lip Balm Stick. I love this because it not only moisturizes your lips but it also has SPF 15 sun protection and also includes up to 80 minutes of water resistance. This has been in our pool bag quite frequently and also gets its use when swim lessons roll around once school starts. I especially tend to get cold sores from too much sun so this helps a lot. I don’t want to risk it with the girls so this is a quick preventative measure!
Ella’s favorite is the CarmexComfort Care™ Lip Balms (she loves Mixed Berry). This is formulated with natural colloidal oatmeal which has been used for centuries to help soothe and promote softer , hydrated skin. It also has antioxidant-rich fruit seed oil that helps restore lips’ natural beauty and provides hydration. For those of us that are concerned with aging (right here!), this also helps defend against free radicals that accelerate the appearance of aging.
I love when I can share something with my girls that I have used and loved for so many years like Carmex-I especially love it when it’s something that is so useful! Now that I have the girls all set for school and ready to tackle their dry, chapped lips, it’s time to move on to the rest of back to school shopping….clothes! That isn’t quite as easy as this was!
