It’s been a suuuuper long time since I have done any sort of try on session on my blog. I have been saving them for instagram, because, well its just easier!
But alas, the weather has been dreadful here which has made it hard to squeeze in blog photo shoots, so it just made sense to dedicate a whole blog post to Loft’s Friends and Family sale!
Per the usual, they have some pretty great pieces now-it was hard to narrow it down and not leave with everything in my dressing room!
I wasn’t sure about these pants when I grabbed them, but I figured I would give them a try. Like I tell my customers and clients-what’s the worst that could happen? I was pleasantly surprised! They are super soft, have a decent amount of stretch to them-I didn’t feel restricted in them at all. Plus, the color is super fun! I am wearing a 14, so I would say they are true to size. These pants would also be a great work to play item to keep in your closet!
This top was adorable and really comfortable. Sometimes tops that have the little shoulder ruffle can be a miss on me because I am not the tiniest, but these were subtle enough that they worked. I would say this top is true to size!
I wanted to love this top, and I mostly do, but the sleeves were just too long for me. I suppose I could have unbuttoned them and rolled the sleeve a bit, but I just wasn’t feeling it! I do love the print, and the overall style, I just couldn’t get past the sleeves!
I am always on the hunt for a new pair of denim shorts. These were size 14-they fit but they were just a taaaad snug. No matter the brand, I prefer to have my denim shorts fit a little bit looser, so if I could, I would size up in these.
What I love about this top is that it looks adorable with these jean shorts, but it could also be worn to work if need be. I know I have been adding into my outfit posts lately ideas to wear things to work, so I thought these would look great with perhaps the Girlfriend Chinos I have on in the first picture! I love navy blue and mustard together!
Another top that is so adorable! Just like the previous top, really lightweight and breezy. I love how it has a high low cut to it, and it has a button detail up the back which I think gives it a sweet finishing touch. I am wearing the large, so I would say it’s true to size!
I loooved this top on the hanger-me? Not so much. I know I could have and probably should have sized down (one of my followers works at Loft and said I probably could have size down two sizes). I think on the right person this would look adorable, but I think it’s just not for me. It wasn’t flattering at all and did nothing for my shape. Sadly, this was a definite NO!
This top is the one that got away! (Not really…I could totally order it online!). I will say I am bummed I didn’t get it! While it’s a pretty basic top, there is something about the boatneck and the flutter sleeves that I just love!
I am wearing the large, and it fit me perfectly so I would say it is true to size. I like that it’s more of a knit and doesn’t have a basic tee feel to it, if that makes sense? Regardless, I definitely recommend this top!
Believe it or not, this is actually not a jumpsuit! I also can’t take credit for pairing this together. When I saw it on the mannequin in my local Loft, I loved it, thinking it was all one piece. Surprise, surprise, it’s actually a top and bottom!
This top is true to size- wearing the large I felt comfortable and could easily move. The pants came home with me in an XL. The larges were a little snug, and the XL’s were a tad big but wearable. If there was some magical size between a large and an XL, it would be great! HA!
You know I love a versatile piece, right? I loved the idea of swapping out the matching top for a plain white sweater tee and tossing on a denim jacket. I think it’s such a sweet, casual look that could easily be worn in a casual work setting, or for running errands!
Top // Jeans
I really think a good pair of white jeans are a closet staple. I know a lot of gals that steer clear of white jeans, but I truly have had a lot of luck with white jeans from Loft over the last several years.
I couldn’t find these particular ones I am wearing online yet, but they do have a great selection of others. I am wearing a 14 in these jeans and they feel great. Perfect amount of stretch and I don’t feel exposed in them at all!
I am wearing a large in this sweater, so it’s definitely true to size. If you wanted it to be a little bit slouchier, though you could definitely size up!
Shorts (plus version. Non plus available in store)
Really though, I think I probably liked them because they looked like a comfortable pair of pajama shorts! I am wearing the XL in these shorts-they are just a little big, but like the pants I feel like the larges would have been too tight. But like I said earlier, I do like my shorts a little on the looser side, so I would totally wear these!
The beaded detail on this top got me! I absolutely loved it and think its such a cool detail! It’s comfortable, true to size and, like most things I have shared, could easily be worn for work with a pair of black pants!
You all know my love for a good jumpsuit, right? I was super excited to try this one on, but was sadly disappointed! I feel like my torso was the wrong length, because the elastic waist hit me at a weird spot. If I pulled the elastic waist up higher so the crotch didn’t pull, it looked great in the crotch/hip area but the waist looked silly. If I pulled the elastic waist down lower so it looked great, the crotch/hip area looked off.
Needless to say, I was totally bummed! Size wise though, I would say overall the large seemed to fit!
WHEW! So there you have it. I hope this was helpful for you. I have a few other items that I ordered online that should be coming within the next week- I will be sure to share whenever they arrive.
