Transitional Midi Dress

Happy Monday, everyone! Is that an oxymoron- “Happy Monday!?” Like can a Monday be happy?!?!

For me personally they aren’t too bad in that my store is closed Monday’s. It’s kind of nice because it allows me to sort of ease back into the work week. I know- you’re probably thinking how lucky I am to have Monday’s off. True as it may be, I typically work Saturday’s, so Sunday and Monday are like my weekend! The summer has been great, having my girl’s home with my on Monday’s but I must say I am sort of ready for school to start again. Not necessarily to have my Monday’s back to myself, but more for just having a routine.

I have never considered myself someone who craves routine or is routine driven, but as the girls are getting older and more active, the summer becomes a little more hectic. With all of that said, I have discovered this summer just how much I love routine, a schedule, anything that keeps us on track and in line! So bring on the school year!

Speaking of the school year, it has me thinking of fall, and how this dress would be a great transition piece from the warmer months of summer into early fall. This exact print is sold out (but keep an eye out as it may be restocked now that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is over), but it is available in a short sleeve version in several prints and colors.

I wore this in New Orleans (full blog post on what we did/saw/ate coming up soon) and it was great-super flowy, breathable and comfortable. If it weren’t so hot I would have worn my denim jacket with it (which I did have on during our flight). I think this would look adorable though with not only the sandals hat I wore with it already,  but a denim jacket and booties would be equally as adorable!
