You Asked, I Answered: A Q&A

Sometimes I love to add a little Q&A into my content calendar-I love to find out what kinds of questions you all have! You all had some great questions, so let’s just jump right in!

What do weeknight dinners look like for your family, esp back to school?

This is one thing I feel like we kind of do an ok job with. We grocery shop on Sunday’s after church. Usually on the car ride to church, and then over donuts after church we plan our meals for the week based on our schedule. From there, we make a list of what we need to get. I wouldn’t say we are overly creative with our meals but we do have a bunch that we rotate through!

Some of our favorite meals to have:

Breakfast for dinner (Brinner as we call it), tacos, grilled chicken salad, egg salad sandwiches, pasta (spaghetti, baked ziti), burgers and fries, our own version of KFC’s Ultimate bowl (look it up, it’s delish lol), lasagna roll ups, grilled chicken and rice, italian sausage subs.

The key to us is planning ahead. We also have a dry erase calendar on our fridge that we write our meals on for the week. It helps us stay on track and somehow makes the week go a little bit smoother. Plus it always answers the “what should we do for dinner tonight?” question!

Do you wear any shapewear under your outfits?

I typically don’t unless I am wearing a dress or other outfit that I feel I need a little smoothing out. I did a post last year about shapewear, and I still wear the same one! It’s not restricting, it’s easy to get on, but I feel like it does a great job of smoothing things out! You can read the full post here.

Do you get to keep all the clothes you try on?

So if I am trying on clothes at home, then I bought them. Unless you see a hashtag in my stories that says #AD or #SPONSORED, then I paid for everything with my own money. On my blog, it will be disclosed at the top or bottom of the post that it is sponsored. When I do try on sessions in the fitting room, like Loft or Old Navy, I am pretty much just like everyone else-trying on clothes to see what works and what doesn’t. I just snap pics along the way to share with you all! Again, unless it’s a blog collaboration (which I always disclose) I pay for everything!

With that said though, I never endorse or do a collaboration with a brand that doesn’t align with me and my brand.

How do you know if you want/don’t want another baby?

I chatted about this a few weeks ago on stories. We are a house divided. I want another baby more than anything, but Ryan is content with where we are. It’s hard to explain, but to me I just know that I am not done. My family doesn’t feel complete at all. I realize we are in such a great moment of life with our family right now. The girls are semi independent, no more butt wiping (yay!), they can get themselves up and dressed, buckled in the car, no diaper bags, etc. But despite all of that, I just have this strong desire for another little one!

I read an article once that said to picture your family 30 or 40 years from now sitting around a table. If you can look at your current situation and say “yes, we’re all here.” then you are done. For me, when I picture my family 30-40 years from now, there is someone else at that table with us. I don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl, I can’t quite picture that much, but I just know there is someone else!

I have had friends ask me, both those with and without children, how I know so much that I am not done and want another. I try to explain that it is similar to those that just know they don’t want children or just know they are done. You just know.

If you could only have one pair of jeans from now until eternity (or for the fall) what would you wear? (I got this question twice).

So this is a tough one, because I have two pairs that I love and could never live without! My Madewell High Rise Slim Crop are MVP’s in my book. They are a high waist, super flattering, and are a great wash. They are definitely an investment but worth it. The quality is so great!

My other pair of can’t live without jeans are my Wit and Wisdom’s. I did a collaboration with them during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (see the original post here) and it has been one of my best collaborations to date! I am so glad I was able to try them, because I fell in love! They have what is called an Ab-Solution technology, which means there is a no gap waist. The waistband is elastic so they fit perfectly. I could honestly wear them all day long and I don’t feel like I am constantly tugging and pulling at them!

Both of these jeans are great for the baby pooch (another question I had). I feel like I have a little bit of one and I feel so great in both of these brands!

Favorite Bra!

I am in the process of sharing in more detail in the coming weeks (I know I promised last week but it got pushed back). But for now I will say that I have grown quite fond of ThirdLove. They make it really easy to find the perfect bra for you. I have been wearing them for about a month now and haven’t looked back. Stay tuned for more!

What is your nighttime skincare routine?

I have been using Rodan + Fields for about 3 or so years now and love it. I use the Reverse face wash most nights, along with the Derma-Roller a few nights a week. I also exfoliate as well about one night a week!

I also started to use Olay Whip, which I have really grown to love. What I like about it, is that it is fast absorbing and it gives me a matte finish (that’s more important to me in the mornings than at bed time).

Ok, gals that’s all for now!! The one’s I didn’t get to I will try and answer on isntastories today! Have a great weekend!
