Hope your week has been going well! I headed into Loft the other day to try on some of their newest arrivals since they are having a 40% off sale. I can never resist their sales-I rarely buy anything full price there because it seems like their sales happen pretty frequently, which I am so not complaining about!
Lately, I have been partnering with other bloggers for some of my try ons, which I absolutely love doing-it shows you all how things look on different body types and is a a great point of reference as far as size goes. For this Loft try on, I teamed up with a dear friend of mine (since jr. high!) Marisa from A Lovely Living. She is adorable, and so kind, and has great style-we have a lot of overlap as far as our style goes so doing this with her was not a stretch at all. I have our try on saves in the Loft Highlights if you want to see how the pieces look on her (size 2, XS/S).
I was skeptical of this dress, main;y because shirt dresses don’t always work well on me. They are usually too tight in the hips and thighs and sometimes the chest. They didn’t have the XL in stock so I grabbed the large thinking/anticipating it not working but was pleasantly surprised. It fit me so well. The length was perfect (I am 5’4″) and it felt great in my chest/arms/hips. I love the navy and green color of it too-I think it’s such a classic holiday plaid. It is lined as well which just gives a little added reinforcement that I love.
Ladies-if you ever need a true wrap dress, let this be the one you add to your closet. I felt amazing in this. I am wearing the XL so I would say that it is true to size-stick with what you normally would wear. I finally had to get rid of my classic black wrap dress not too long ago and am looking for a replacement-this just might be it. I didn’t grab it in store and have been thinking about it non stop-it is that good. Being 5’4″ I think the length is great on me, but I do think there is some wiggle room if you are a little taller or shorter!
Love this outfit-this is my kind of “wear around the house but also out and about” outfit. This top is incredibly soft-I am wearing the large so definitely true to size. It has a high low hem, so you are a little more covered in the back. I tried on the XL hoping it would add length, but it really just added bulk and not the length I was looking for, so I would suggest sticking with your true size.
These leggings-I had heard great things about them, but never gave them a try. I didn’t realize all I was missing with them-they are so comfortable and I feel secure in them, if that makes sense? They are nice and thick so you don’t have to worry about them being see through ( I know that is a concern for a lot of us when wearing leggings). The rise is perfect to me (you can see on inststories how the rise is). I am wearing a large in these and am typically a 12/14 for sizing reference. I have trouble sometimes with length when it comes to leggings-I find that they bunch at the ankles but these didn’t!
I think this was my favorite outfit of all-the top and blazer both came home with me! I had been on the hunt for a good blazer for a while but I knew I wanted one that had some stretch to it and could be dressed up and dressed down-this one fit the bill. I am wearing a size 12 and it fits me like a glove. I can move and groove in it, the stretch is ideal, and the material is one that can look great for the office but will also hold it’s own with a graphic tee and jeans.
This top is tissue soft and lightweight. I am wearing a large, which is perfect. It is fitted without being too tight, and it has great stretch to it. I think if you wanted it to be a little looser you could sized up.
Love these jeans-for not being high rise (my fave kind of rise) they sit at a great spot. Comfortable, soft, and even has a little bit of stretch. They did tell me that these do stretch out a bit (and I know from experience) so do keep that in mind! I was also surprised about the length of these. I typically have to cuff their regular length jeans, but these hit at just the right spot on me!
I love a good oversized sweater, and this one doesn’t disappoint. To me, Lou & Grey seems to always run a little on the large side. I am wearing this sweater in the large, and I had plenty of room in it! It was really soft, super comfortable and a perfect everyday, casual sweater.
I love a good blanket scarf-such an easy way to complete an overall look! I love the colors in this one-so pretty!
Another great casual sweater. I love this one because I feel like it could be work appropriate if you are in a business casual setting. As far as sizing goes, I am in the large so I would say that it is true to size. It’s not the softest sweater I have ever worn, but that doesn’t bother me too much! To me, it’s something that I can tolerate by just wearing a fitted tank or tee underneath!
I absolutely loved this sweatshirt! I was on the fence about the twist in the front because sometimes I feel like something like that can add bulk to me, but I feel like it did just the opposite-I feel like it was super flattering on me. The large fit perfectly although I would say that I could size up to make it just a little looser and even a tad longer.
An up closer look-how adorable, right?!
I wanted to love this top, but it just wasn’t a favorite of mine. The flutter sleeves aren’t one of my faves. The style (minus the sleeves) and texture are adorable-love the velvet! As far as sizing, the large was a bit snug in my chest, so I would suggest sizing up. I think this would be a great work to play top-easily paired with a pair of dress pants for work and then jeans and a fun pair of shoes for a date night or a girls night out!
Guys, this tunic comes in six colors-six! It is incredibly soft, so comfortable and, to me, the perfect length. Easily pair this with a pair of leggings, or even jeans. Something like this would be great for the holiday season-all of those gatherings where you have to be dressed up but also want to be comfortable? Yep-this is it! I am in the large and it fits me perfectly, so I would say that it’s true to size!
These jeans-surprisngly loooove them! For some reason I am not a fan of super dark wash jeans, but I do love these. The slight distressing and the frayed hem is just enough to sway my opinion! I am wearing a 14, and they fit like a glove!
I wanted to love this top, but it just didn’t do it for me. I thought I would love the sleeves, which I didn’t hate them, but I think it was the print that I just didn’t like. I am wearing the XL, which I think fits well and is loose and flowy enough for me, but I do think the large would fit me well, too.
I feel like this would be a great work top-it would be perfectly paired with a pair of dress pants or even a pencil skirt!
Love this, but it wasn’t my fave! I think it would look better tucked in, if I am being honest! I am wearing the XL here which I think is the perfect fit. While this wasn’t a fave on me, I do think this would look so great paired with a fun skirt for the holiday season!
This sweater came home with me-so comfortable, soft and I love the texture. It does come in other colors but I loved this neutral, winter white. I am wearing a large, so it’s safe to say it’s true to size!
