Aaahhhhh! I am so excited and can’t believe I am writing this!! I am thrilled to be a part of the Gibson International Women’s Day Collection launching exclusively at Nordstrom on International Women’s Day, which is exactly one month from today, March 8th!!
This beautiful collection will celebrate nine influencers who all embrace and bring to life theme of International Women’s Day: #balanceforbetter. I am so honored to introduce to you all of the gals that are a part of the collection with me:
Hoang Kim of Color and Chic
Chelsea of Lowe Co Petite
Roselyn of Roselyn Weaver
Thamarr of Musings of a Curvy Lady
Ruthie of Ruthie Ridley Blog
Lindsey of The Mother Chic
Mindy of Mindy Cityy
Erin of Living in Yellow
Every piece in the collection is named after each of the influencers involved. They were designed by Gibson with us and for us!
I have to say though, my two pieces in the collection are phenomenal. I of course know what I love and wear over and over, but one thing that has been great about the Mommy in Heels community is that I have truly gotten to know what you all gravitate towards when it comes to style. I feel like I have a great read on what you all would connect with, and would be thrilled to add to your closet. The end result-something that was designed not only for me but for YOU! I promise you, with my pieces in the collection (and honestly the collection as a whole), you will get a ton of wear out of them.
You all know my well enough now to know that I love versatile pieces in my wardrobe-I love being able to take something from day to night, work to play, play date to date night. I so look forward to mixing and matching this collection with my existing wardrobe and I know you will too!
I can’t tell you many more specifics but I can tell you that the one item comes in four (yes FOUR) different beautiful colors, and the other item in a gorgeous print and also a fab color!
Overall, there is something for everyone. The whole collection is a great representation of all of our individual styles but they all still remain cohesive!
In one simple word-YOU. What started out as just a place for me to share outfit ideas has turned into so much more. Something that I never would have imagined when I stared blogging 6 years ago was the community that I would create through my blog, and the self love journey this would take me on. Over the last 6 years I have learned to love myself (it’s a daily choice, some days easier than others), be content and be confident.
It’s no secret that I have come such a long way in building my confidence and self love. It’s been so rewarding to bring you all along with me, sharing my story, and hearing yours. I love getting messages from all of you telling me your stories, and hearing how I have impacted you and encouraged you to love yourself or even something simple like how you tried a new style because of me!
Out of my blog, came #MoreThanASize. Something that I am so incredibly proud of. #MoreThanASize is a movement that encourages women (and men too), to look beyond their size, and realize that we are all so much more-who we are, what we do with our lives, how we treat people, is so much more important than our size/weight.
With you all in mind, my blog, and #MoreThanASize, I knew this collection with Gibson for International Women’s Day would be meaningful and make a difference. I know this collection will bring out the confidence in you that you deserve to share and most importantly feel.
As if the Gibson International Women’s Day Collection couldn’t get any better, each of the influencers involved could include a charity of our choosing to donate a portion of the sales from our namesake items to. With self love and body positivity in mind, I chose the Movemeant Foundation and I am so excited. Movemeant is an amazing organization that empowers girls and women by providing them with opportunities and experiences to use physical movement as a tool to build confidence and self-worth.
Directly from their website (because they explain it better than I ever could):
“We are a 501(C)3 non-profit organization committed to making fitness accessible, fun and empowering while shifting the conversation from weight loss and typical beauty ideals to that of body positivity and supporting one another.
Our young women are bombarded with images and messages that glorify perfection as thin and beautiful. In some instances, they also have inadequate education on the merits of healthy, active, nutritious living. As a result, our young women are falling short-failing to realize how extraordinary they are. Instead they focus on everything they are not.”
They sound amazing, right? And after the discussion I had on my instagram last week how it’s possible to be body positive and want to be healthy and improve, coupled with my struggle with self worth and low self esteem, I knew the Movemeant Foundation was the perfect fit!
I truly cannot thank you all enough. It’s because of all of you I get to live my dream every day. My Mom asked me yesterday when we were talking about this if I ever would have thought that I would be doing something like this. Short answer: no! What started as just sharing my outfits with you all as a hobby has turned into such an amazing, fulfilling, and humbling career-one that I am insanely proud of and humbled by.
Thank you all so so much, from the bottom of my heart, for coming back to my blog day after day, and encouraging me to keep going!
Keep checking back as I will be sharing more and more of the Gibson International Women’s Day Collection as the launch date (MARCH 8TH!!!) approaches!
